Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans – Katelyn Grosart here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. I’m excited to be back today to share with you my Wander Tag featuring the Spring Farmhouse collection by Prima Marketing.
For us here on the west coast, we just went through a large dump of snow and cold temperatures, which is having us longing for Spring to arrive. With the thought of Spring on my mind, I set out to create this spring inspired Wander Tag which features the beautiful Spring Farmhouse Collection and a variety of products from Prima Marketing as well as ink from Ranger Ink. Mini Tag from Stampers Anonymous and adhesive from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. You’ll want to grab a cup of your favourite beverage as I share with you how I created my tag. To cover the Mini Tag from Stampers Anonymous, I used a variety of beautiful papers out of the Spring Farmhouse Collection from Prima Marketing. I love layering the different patterns of papers together to create interest on the base of the tag. For the little bit of vellum that is sticking on the tag, that came from the packaging that the flowers came on. The ruler chipboard element at the bottom of the frame is a chipboard sticker out of the Pretty Pale chipboard stickers from Prima Marketing. With wanting to go for more of a vintage feel, I distressed the edges of each paper and inked the edges of all the papers using Ground Espresso Distress Ink and a Blending Tool with Foam from Ranger Ink.
To embellish the bottom right-hand corner of the frame, I used a variety of different sized flowers, butterflies and doily flowers of a piece of trim from Prima Marketing. By combining the different elements, it gives the bottom right corner a variety of texture and depth. For embellishing the top left-hand corner of the frame, I used a variety of different sized flowers, butterflies and doily flowers of a piece of trim from Prima Marketing. When I adhered the butterfly in amongst the flowers, I made sure that parts of it hung over the reinforcement hole as I knew that I wasn’t going to add any ribbon to it and wanted to make sure that the hole didn’t look too bare and tied into the piece. As soon as I saw the Wander rectangle on one of the papers out of the Spring Farmhouse Collection from Prima Marketing, I knew that I wanted to frame it. The frame is found in the Memory Hardware collection from Prima Marketing and with it already being white, I knew that I was only going to change it up a little bit. To tie in the gold that was in a variety of places on my tag, I rubbed White Gold Art Alchemy Metallique Wax from Prima Marketing along the edge of the frame. Once the wax was on the frame, then I adhere the wander rectangle in behind the frame. Everything is stuck together using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares and E-Z Runner Grand Tape Runner. Thanks for taking the time to check out my blog post. I hope that my Wander Tag has inspired you to make your own version of my tag at home. Supplies Used:
