Soft pastels and summer vibes.
Hello everyone, Kerry Engel here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. The Creative Memories Blend and Bloom collection includes patterned paper, embellishments, and stickers that can be layered to create subtle, soft,” summery” pages. My Kuaui photos in this layout have a soft, over exposed finish and they softly whispered “Blend and Bloom”. I combined both the blue and green paper packages and was inspired by the February sketchy challenge. I just adore the laser cut leaves. You can use either side of the leaf-they are slightly different colors. Both colors combine perfectly and mimics the subtle shades of a summer garden. There are several different leaf shapes that look great as a single focal point or combined to create a garden or bouquet. I crunched up the bottom right corner of my paper so I could tuck in a leaf vine. Keeping items close together and overlapping elements on the photos and on background paper creates cohesiveness. The nature-inspired embellishment pack contains a great variety of designs perfect for building clusters and little scenes; like I did with the clouds and then the leaves. I created a third cluster with the leaves and the word “hello”. I created depth by propping up the word “hello” with foam squares. The photos in this layout were all taken with my iPhone. I like to edit and use different filters on vacation. I enjoy posting them to Instagram. I often use Snap Seed and ColorStory Apps. I added the word “aloha” to the photo of the flowers when I edited it. I enjoy scrapbooking these differently edited photos – it’s especially fun when you find a paper collection that matches your edits.
