Today I’m sharing my layout, inspired by our March Sketchy Challenge. Sketches are always a great place to start your creative process…it’s almost like oil for the cogs of your creative brain.I like to flip and rotate sketches to see all the different ways I can play with it. As you see by my finished layout I opted to rotate counter clockwise. My large block became two photos to fill a similar space and my two small squares became a 4×6 photo with a small inset photo. Let your brain work with the spaces of the sketch but be open to mix it up! You’ll be amazed at how many ways one sketch can unfold differently on several layouts!
Here are some of the supplies I pulled out to work with!
I chose to play with the Creative Memories Secret Garden collection including their paper and stickers. This collection is soon to be retired so get it while you can!!! I just loved all the colours and watercolour vibe of the papers. I cut up several of the sticker strips to tuck into places that needed interest and colour. I also used up lots of the quote stickers to frame my landscape photo…I LOVE how that turned out!
My title was created using Forever in Time Puffy Letter Stickers [white] that were coloured using a Chameleon Pen. This is a technique I use often to ensure I get the best colour for my project!
The large quote “ Don’t wait for the perfect moment…take the moment and make it perfect” was part of the Secret Garden collection. I used my Ranger Emboss It Dauber over the entire quote and added Seth Apter’s Vintage Beeswax embossing powder by Emerald Creek ~ this stuff leaves a GORGEOUS finish!
I am always a fan of the various adhesives by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to keep everything down. For this layout I used my E-Z Runner Grand and some Foam Sheets.
Hope we get to see your sketch inspired layouts in our Sketchy Gallery or Sketchy Gallery Facebook Group!

Gorgeous Kim! Thank you for sharing.
Beautiful layout, Kim. Who doesn’t love Peggy’s cove. We were there in 1996 and again in 2005. I would love to go back again and show our son, who was only 5 when we went in 2005. Thank you for sharing your talents with us. Prayerful hugs,
