Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans ! Katelyn Grosart here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. Today I am sharing with you a pretty flower-themed project featuring the Botanical Garden collection by Carta Bella. At the beginning of May, we went to the Tulip Festival in Abbotsford to check out all the amazing rows of different coloured and varieties of tulips. So for today’s project, I created my scrapbook layout using inspiration from our May Sketch designed by Kerry Engel. With the May sketch in hand, I set off to create my layout using the Botanical Garden Collection from Carta Bella which I combined with some adhesive from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, and ink from Ranger Ink, I was able to create my pretty Beautiful Day Scrapbook Layout. You’ll want to grab a cup of your favourite Spring beverage as I share with you how I created my scrapbook layout. Out of the Botanical Garden Ephemera package from Carta Bella, I used the 5 different patterned banners and inked them using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam from Ranger Ink. After the banners had been inked, I adhere them to a piece of twine using Dodz and 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. To get the title for my layout, I used one of the cards out of the Botanical Garden Paper Pack from Carta Bella. Once I had chosen a card, I cut the card down to 3” x 3” and then inking the edges using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam from Ranger Ink. To add some extra interest to the title, I chose one of the tags out of the Botanical Garden Ephemera Package from Carta Bella, which I also inked the edges using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam from Ranger Ink. For the floral element behind the title, I chose to fussy cut one of the large flower bunches out of the Botanical Garden Paper from Carta Bella. To not have the photos blend into the background piece of patterned paper also out of the Botanical Garden Paper Pack from Carta Bella, I chose two other patterned papers from the same paper pack to cut mats for behind the photos. Once the photos were adhered to the mats and the mats adhered to the background patterned paper piece, I fussy cut flowers out of the patterned papers from the Botanical Garden Paper Pack from Carta Bella. Before adhering all of the elements, I inked the edges using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam from Ranger Ink. Once the bottom right-hand photo was matted, it felt like it was missing something, so out of the Botanical Garden Frames & Tags from Carta Bella, I pulled out the frame with the scallop at the bottom and adhered it to the right-hand side of the mat. After the photo was adhered to the background patterned paper piece using 3D Foam Squares and EZ Runner from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, I added a variety of fussy cut flowers. To finish off the top left-hand photo mat, I looked through Botanical Garden Frames & Tags from Carta Bella to find another floral tag that was perfect to adhere to the left-hand side of the mat. After the photo was adhered to the background patterned paper piece using 3D Foam Squares and E-Z Runner from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, I added a variety of fussy cut flowers. Thanks for taking the time to check out my blog post.
