Hi, Connie Nichol here today with a couple of Christmas cards featuring the Christmas Carolers Art Impressions stamp set. Where I live, the days are very short right now as we approach the winter solstice and I like to keep busy during the long evenings. One of my favourite things to do is putz around with my craft supplies and make cards. I often listen to an audiobook while I am crafting. It’s a great way to multi-task if you can ‘read’ and create at the same time. Forgive the artificial light on these photographs – as I mentioned, the days are short and it is dark when I go to work and dark when I come home. Here’s the stamp set I used. I notice that it’s no longer available from the Art Impressions website, but you can buy it from many other retailers. Alternatively, Art Impressions has other beautiful Christmas stamps that you can use to make these cards. I stamped my image with Ranger Black Archival Ink and coloured it with Chameleon markers. After I coloured the images, I dressed them up with Stickles glitter glue, a tiny bell and some red Liquid Applique that I found in my stash. It’s pretty cool stuff – you just squeeze it out of the tube and then heat with a heat gun to make it bubble and expand.
Trim your stamped image and mount on cardstock or patterned paper or both. Add a little ribbon or some more sparkle with gemstones and more glitter glue to make an especially festive card.
Here’s a card with liquid applique. I only had red in my stash, but white liquid applique would look really good if applied to the ‘fur’ trim o the Santa clothing.
Supplies Used: Bazzill Basics cardstock, Close to my Heart embossing folder, Ranger Archival Ink and Stickles Glitter Glue, Chameleon Pens, Art Impressions stamps, Glue Dots adhesives, ribbon, Marvy Uchida Liquid
Applique.
Merry Christmas everyone!
