Welcome to the  Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog today.  Its Karan Gerber and I thought I would share a Christmas Card with you using some products from Heartfelt Creations My card is designed using the O Holy Night collection which was released last month. The mini poinsettias and leaves along with that delicate holly branch are from last year, but still one of my favorites go-to’s when doing Christmas Cards. So let’s get started. First, we will need to cut our papers, the card base is a 6×12 folded in half; the dark green is 5.75 x 5.75.  I like the border the white automatically creates, if you prefer to have the green go to the full 6×6, that would look lovely too. The red is 5.25 x 5.25 and the wood looking paper is cut from the reverse of the center of this one and measures 5×5. Using the Ornament Die set from Heartfelt;…

Deck the Halls with Christmas Sweaters by Cathy Caines The holiday season is upon us and I am in full swing. I am so ready for the magic of Christmas and all the simple joys it brings as I enjoy the wonder of the season through the eyes of my children Jane (7) and Jack (5). I am wishing you and your families the very best this holiday season – from my family to yours. About a month ago Stampin’ Up! released their new line of alcohol markers called Stampin’ Blends. Ever since the release, I have been coloring just about everything. However, the Stampin’ Up! Christmas Sweaters stamp set is by far my favourite. The markers seem to bring the sweaters to life. Before making any projects, I coloured several of the images while catching up on The Americans TV show. Once I found myself back in my craft room,…

Hopefully I will end up getting more created, but at least right now, I know I have two. I hope that my Christmas Cards will inspire you to recreate them for your loved ones and friends.  Using the Sugarplum Collection, Holly Decorative Punch and Poinsettia Punch from Creative Memories. As well as Fitted Circles die from Elizabeth Craft Designs and adhesive from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. Here are the Christmas cards that I created. For the December 25th Christmas card, I combined the Poinsettia punch, Holly Decorative Border Punch, Sugarplum Embellishments, Sugarplum Designer Paper Pack and the Sugarplum Variety Mat Pack all from Creative Memories, to create…

Hi everyone,Kim here ? Thanks for checking into the CSM blog today. I just wanted to share this month’s sketch, designed by Kelly Klapstein. This month’s sketch was designed with card making in mind, ‘tis the season of making, giving and receiving cards! It’s a great sketch! I however used it as a starting point for a layout. That’s is the cool thing about sketches…they are simply a starting point for creativity. I used Close to My Heart’s “City Sidewalk” collection. I ADORE everything about this collection, it’s full of fun, whimsical papers, die cuts and glittery accents and also has a corresponding Cricut cartridge to keep the fun going strong! I decided to make a gift card holder while I had all this fun product out, I’ll need a few more before December 25th! As you can see, I did not follow the sketch for the card…but plan to…

It’s that time of year. You’ve got to do your Christmas Cards. I am here to tell you: Don’t be ambitious.  Be realistic. You need a card that is a) beautiful b) quick and c) has a wow factor. That’s this card. Say hello to… Well. Simply – one glittery bulb using Stampin’ Up! products. You can make these in bulk quickly. Step one: Stamp using versamark your image onto watercolour paper.  I chose this delightful Stampin’ Up! Happy Ornament stamp set. Heat emboss using black embossing powder. I usually do this in batches of 10. Step two: Watercolour using your Stampin’ Write markers and an aqua painter.  See last months Creative Scrapbooker Magazine post on how to do this.  Let air dry or use a heat gun. Step Three: It’s concoction time.  To achieve this “glittery bulb” look, I took a piece of transparency and poured some Crystal…

Hi everyone and welcome to September! You might be a little confused because of the Santas in the pictures above. But it’s definitely September and not December. September 1st was the kick off for the latest Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog and I couldn’t wait to show you some products from the book. These cards stay true to my lean and clean style. The vintage style stamps are incredibly gorgeous. This one, called Father Christmas, is stunning and a must have item. As far as I am concerned, it’s never too early to start preparing for the holiday season. This month I made a quick video to show you how to watercolour easily with the Stampin’ Write markers and an aquapainters.
