Hello everyone! It’s Kerry Engel, here today to share with you an adorable card that is just begging to be touched. Between the embossing, stenciling and flocking this card is full of texture-therapy; for the maker and the receiver.
Cards for any occasion are my favorite ones to keep in my stash. This cute little die-cut owl could be used on a multitude of occasions and I find his tummy is just the right size to hold a sentiment. My favourite trick when putting together more detailed die cut items is to use 3D Foam Squares under key areas. I used the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares to raise my owl’s head up and away from his body. Therm O Web Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheets cut like butter and emboss like a boss. To create this adorable Owl I used the Therm O Web Deco Foil Flock Transfer sheets with an Impression Obsession die. His tummy and face were cut from kraft colored cardstock. I like to create fun and interesting background for my cards. I used Therm O Web Deco Foil Metallix Gel and a Wilna Furstenberg stencil, it coordinated perfectly with the Tuscan Gold coloured Flock Transfer Sheet. I also created a base layer on the card front by running the Therm O Web Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheet through an Elizabeth Crafts Designs embossing folder. I was really excited with the results. The Flock Transfer Sheet held the embossing so well and looks really rich! I use Therm O Web Purple Tape to hold my dies in place when I run them through a Die Cutting Machine. To finish it off I “randomly” layered sequins by Wild Whisper. I say “random” because there really isn’t anything random about trying to place a sequin down in just the right place – you know what I’m talking about! I hope you have some time to do something creative today – It’s good for the soul.

Adorable owl. I have stencils, foil and embossing folder but I don’t have any kind of adhesive…
