As we move closer to Mother’s Day and longer into this pandemic, I am starting to miss the physical connections I have with other humans. Mother’s Day will especially be hard as I traditionally celebrate so many beautiful women in my life in person. What I wouldn’t do right now for some hugs with my own mother, my ‘person’. For now, I will be building that love bigger and bigger until we embrace it again. “If flowers were hugs, I’d send you thousand.”

Those words from the Abstract Impressions stamp set by Stampin’ Up! spoke to me. They seemed to be exactly what I wanted to say. And not just to my mother but to so many of my family and friends. Typically, I am not a big hugger but after this pandemic, you can be certain that I’ll turn into a regular “hug-o-monster”. Look out world because I’ll be jumping on couches saying, “you get a hug and you get a hug and everybody gets a hug!”

In creating this card, when the sentiment is all you need then simple works beautifully. However, if you are looking to get a little more creative and want to take it up a notch, here’s my stepped-up version. The card base is created using the Subtle 3D embossing folder by Stampin’ Up! on Sahara Sand cardstock. Sahara Sand happens to be my most used colour cardstock behind Whisper White! The faux stitching comes from the Stitched Labels Framelits, which is decorated with linen thread (also a favourite product of mine). And finally, both cards were topped off with some basic pearls.

Well my friends, until we meet again – please take care and stay safe. Find comfort and peace in crafting.
