Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans! For today’s blog post, I’m sharing with you my Flowers are Always a Good Idea Art Journal Page. To create my art journal page, I’ve used a variety of products from Ranger Ink and adhesive from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. You’ll want to grab a cup of your favourite beverage and learn how to recreate my art journal page at home. To start, you’ll need to select what size art journal you want to use. I decided to use the 6” x 6” Dina Wakley White Art Journal from Ranger Ink. Select where in the book you want to create your project. Choose a pattern out of the Dina Wakley Collage Paper – Background from Ranger Ink. You’ll need both pieces. Cut both pieces down to 6” x 6”. Use a paintbrush to apply a coat of Distress Collage Medium – Matte from Ranger Ink to the right page. Put the collage paper overtop of the wet surface on the right page. Apply another coat of Distress Collage Medium – Matte from Ranger Ink overtop of the collage paper. Use the same paintbrush to apply a coat of Distress Collage Medium – Matte from Ranger Ink to the left page. Put the collage paper overtop of the wet surface on the left page. Put the collage paper overtop of the wet surface on the left page. Allow time for the medium to dry. Using a paintbrush, apply a coat of Dina Wakley Acrylic Paint in Apricot from Ranger Ink to the left and right pages. Allow time for the paint to dry. Next, you’ll need a blending tool with foam, Dina Wakley Acrylic Paint in Heather, and the Bendy Pinwheels Stencil from Ranger Ink. Place the stencil where desired on the right page and use the blending tool with foam to blend the Heather Acrylic Paint through the stencil. Move the stencil around on the right page and repeat the previous step six more times. Place the stencil where desired on the left page and use the blending tool with foam to blend the Heather Acrylic Paint through the stencil. Move the stencil around on the left page and repeat the previous step four more times. Allow time for the stenciled image to dry.

You’ll need a blending tool with a new piece of foam, Dina Wakley Acrylic Paint in Mineral, and the Ladders Stencil from Ranger Ink. Place the stencil where desired on the right page and use the blending tool with foam to blend the Mineral Acrylic Paint through the stencil. Move the stencil around on the right page and repeat the previous step three more times. Place the stencil where desired on the left page and use the blending tool with foam to blend the Mineral Acrylic Paint through the stencil. Move the stencil around on the left page and repeat the previous step two more times. Allow time for the stenciled image to dry. Out of the For The Love of Circles Stamp Set from Ranger Ink, you’ll need the script stamp. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink from Ranger Ink to the script stamp, stamp off and then stamp onto the right-hand page as desired. Repeat the previous step eight more times. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink from Ranger Ink to the script stamp, stamp off and then stamp onto the left-hand page as desired. Repeat the previous step ten more times. Rub Distress Crayon in Milled Lavender from Ranger Ink along the edges of both the left and right pages. Next, you’ll need the small scribble branch and large scribble branch out of the Scribbled Branches Stamp Set from Ranger Ink. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink from Ranger Ink to the large scribble branch and stamp onto a piece of Cotton Watercolour Paper from Ranger Ink. Reapply ink to the stamp and stamp onto the same piece of paper. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink from Ranger Ink to the small scribble branch and stamp onto a piece of Cotton Watercolour Paper from Ranger Ink. Reapply ink to the stamp and stamp onto the same piece of paper two more times. Colour the five scribble branches using a waterbrush and Scribble Sticks Sets 1&2 from Ranger Ink. Fussy cut the branches out. Keep one of the large branches long and cut the other large branch down to 2 ¼”. Cut one of the small branches down to 2”. Cut the other two small branches down to 1 ¼”. Ink the edges of the branches using Black Soot Distress Ink and a Blending Tool with Foam from Ranger Ink. Out of the Textures Stamp Set from Ranger Ink, you’ll need the circle stamp. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the circle stamp and stamp onto a piece of Cotton Watercolour Paper from Ranger Ink. Reapply ink to the stamp and stamp onto the same piece of paper. Colour the two circles using a waterbrush and Scribble Sticks Set 3 from Ranger Ink. Cut the circles out. Ink the edges of the circles using Black Soot Distress Ink and a Blending Tool with Foam from Ranger Ink. Out of the Good Idea Stamp Set from Ranger Ink, you’ll need all of the stamps. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the large flower bunch stamp and stamp onto a piece of Cotton Watercolour Paper from Ranger Ink. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the small flower bunch stamp and stamp onto a piece of Cotton Watercolour Paper from Ranger Ink. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the sing flower and stamp onto a piece of Cotton Watercolour Paper from Ranger Ink. Repeat the previous step four more times on the same piece of Cotton Watercolour Paper. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Flowers sentiment and stamp onto a piece of Cotton Watercolour Paper from Ranger Ink. Colour all of the flowers using a waterbrush and Scribble Sticks Sets 1, 2 & 3 from Ranger Ink. Fussy cut all the flowers and flower bunches out. Cut the sentiment into four strips. Ink the edges of the flowers and sentiment strips using Black Soot Distress Ink and a Blending Tool with Foam from Ranger Ink. Now it’s time to start adding the stamped elements onto the pages. We’ll start with the right page.

Use 3D Foam squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere one of the circles 5/8” from the right and ¾” from the bottom of the page. Use E-Z Runner from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere one of the large flower bunch to the middle of the circle as desired. Use E-Z Runner from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere one of the small leaf bunches to one of the single flowers. Repeat the previous step for a second flower. Use 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere one of the single flowers with a leaf 1 7/8” from the bottom and 3 5/8” from the right of the page. Use 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere the other single flower with a leaf ½” from the top and 2 ¼” from the right of the page. Now we’ll work on the left page.
Use 3D Foam squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere one of the large scribble branch 1/8” from the left and 1/8” from the bottom of the page. Use E-Z Runner from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere the remaining circle to the middle of the large scribble branch. Use E-Z Runner from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere the small flower bunch to the middle of the circle as desired. Use E-Z Runner and 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere a single flower 1 3/8” x ½” from the bottom of the page. Use E-Z Runner from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere the remaining two single flowers together as desired. Use 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere the single flower bunch 1 1/8” from the top and 2” from the left of the page.

To finish the art journal spread, use E-Z Runner from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere the Flowers sentiment as desired in amongst the single flowers on the left page. Here are a few closeup photos of my Art Journal Page. Thank you for joining me today and taking the time to check out my blog post.
