Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans! For today’s blog post, I’m excited to share with you how to create a beautiful Congrats Card using the Pop Up Book Card Base from Simply Stated Design. This project also features elements from the By The Light of The Moon Collection by Simply Stated Design. A sentiment from the Tim Holtz Floristry stamp set by Stampers Anonymous. Adhesive from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and a ink from Ranger. Grab your favorite summertime beverage and get ready to recreate this stunning card at home!
Here is a look at the fabulous inside of this gorgeous design. To start, you’ll need the Pop Up Book Card Base from Simply Stated Design. This essential component includes both the card base and the inside pop-up feature that brings your card to life. Next, select the By The Light of The Moon Solid Paper 2 from Simply Stated Design. Cut two pieces measuring 4” x 5 ¼” and sand the edges for a refined look. Use the E-Z Runner from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to secure these pieces to the inside of your card base. Apply the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L E-Z Runner to the flat portion of the pop-up insert and adhere it to the paper you just attached inside the card base. Ensure there is a small 1/16” border around the paper and the pop-up for a polished finish. For the next step, cut pieces from By The Light of The Moon Paper 4. Cut two 5/8” x 12” strips and trim them into the following pieces: 5/8” x 2 ¼”, 5/8” x 1 3/8” (x2), 5/8” x 3 ½” (x2). Repeat the process with another 5/8” x 12” strip. Sand the edges of all the pieces and arrange them on the pop-up. Use the E-Z Runner to adhere the pieces around the edges of the pop-up as arranged. Now, cut pieces from By The Light of The Moon Paper 5: two pieces at ½” x 3 ¼” and two pieces at 2 ½” x 3 ¼”. Sand the edges and arrange them on the middle portion of the pop-up. Adhere these pieces using the E-Z Runner to secure them in place. Choose your floral elements from the By The Light of The Moon Single Floral Ephemera. Select one large flower, two medium flowers, one small flower, a single leaf, a two-leaf bunch, and a five-leaf bunch. You can leave the white edges or fussy cut them as desired. Using the E-Z Runner, attach a medium flower to the two-leaf bunch and place it in the bottom right corner of the middle right pop-up using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares. For the left side, adhere the large, medium, and small flowers together with the five-leaf bunch, positioning the single leaf between the large and small flowers. Use 3D Foam Squares to attach this floral arrangement to the middle left pop-up. Now, let’s work on the card front. Cut pieces from By The Light of The Moon Paper 9: a 4” x 5 ¼” barnwood piece, a 3 ¾” x 5” tan/grey piece, and a 3 ½” x 4 ¾” abstract piece. Sand the edges of each. Gather the blue tag, dotted tab, and floral circle from the By The Light of The Moon Essentials Ephemera. Sand the edges of these elements as well. Next, select the large white flower bunch, small flower bunch, two single leaves, a medium white flower, and a five-leaf bunch from the By The Light of The Moon Floral Ephemera and Single Floral Ephemera. Fussy cut them or leave the white edges as preferred. Using the Congrats sentiment from the Floristry Stamp by Stampers Anonymous, apply Jet Black Archival Ink from Ranger Ink to a light blue section of By The Light of The Moon Paper 5. Cut out the sentiment in a word strip and notch the right side for a banner effect. Adhere the abstract paper to the tan/grey paper, then adhere the tan/grey paper to the barnwood paper using the E-Z Runner. Attach the dotted tab to the right side of the tag with the E-Z Runner, then use 3D Foam Squares to position the tag 3/8” from the left and ½” from the top of the abstract paper. Adhere the smaller floral bunch to the bottom right corner of the abstract paper using E-Z Runner and 3D Foam Squares. Position the floral circle 1/8” from the right and 2” from the top of the abstract paper. Tuck a single leaf slightly underneath the left side of the floral circle and adhere it so it overlaps with the floral bunch in the bottom right corner. Adhere the small white flower and the other single leaf to the bottom left and top left of the large white flower bunch, respectively. Use 3D Foam Squares to position the white floral bunch to the left of the floral circle. Finally, adhere the Congrats Banner 1 ¼” from the left and 1 3/8” from the bottom of the abstract paper using a combination of E-Z Runner and 3D Foam Squares. Complete your card by adhering the card front to the base with the E-Z Runner. Here are a few close-up photos of my card: Thank you for joining me today!
