Every great scrapbook layout and card needs a solid foundation, and that is where Core’dinations™ card stock comes in.  Their booth at CHA was jam-packed with tons of card stock possibilities and more! Their sign says it all… I was VERY excited about their “Chalk Core” card stock.  There are 2 options: black exterior and white core, or black exterior and different coloured cores.  SO COOL! There are 5 colour options: Red, Yellow, Blue, Green and Orange. They come in smaller folded card sizes too! So when you emboss and/or sand to expose the core, you achieve that fun chalkboard effect… Totally love the distressed style you can create with Core’dinations Colorcore card stock! Also on display was designer David Tutera’s “Celebrate” card making system: These sets incorporate 3 steps for card design: 1. Select a card  2. Add a layer  3. Embellish  How easy is this? And just look…

When you step inside the Spellbinders™ booth at CHA, it’s as if you’ve travelled back in time into a glamorous, Victorian mansion….filled with lace and jewelled treasures. These displays were showcases for Spellbinders “A Gilded Life Studio” , a mixed media product line for jewellery making, home decor, embellishments, paper crafts and so forth.     A vintage dress form made from dress patterns! Fabulous! Spellbinders also introduced a new collection of Shapeabilities™ dies that are trendy and smaller in size, called “In’Spire”…..the anchor, birds on wire, feathers, typewriter etc. The other new Shapeabilities collection is called “Create-A-Flower”, die sets of petals and flower pieces that you build to create beautiful realistic 3D flowers, which I didn’t photograph, but you’ll see on the Spellbinders website and blog in the upcoming weeks. One of the most exciting products newly released by Spellbinders is their new “Tool n’ One”, a portable tool that…

I know there are many of us in love with the gorgeous styles of stamps, dies and papers designed by Heartfelt Creations.  Their booth at CHA was sooo beautiful! I think this paper crafted dress form captures the essence of this wonderful company! Their floral dies are…well…to “die” for.  This is evident on all their projects on display. Their newly released “Majestic Morning” collection includes a paper pack, dies and stamps.  It’s gorgeous! All collections on display are stunning, actually. You can use Heartfelt Creations products to design scrapbook layouts and paper crafts too! Isn’t this birdhouse fabulous? Seeing this wall of layouts in their booth was inspirational. This layout is one of my favourites!  How elegant! Valentines and Easter projects were also on display. Honestly, my head was spinning…I’d never seen so many amazing projects on display all in one place! Walking…

All of you crafters who are crazy about ink will love seeing what Clearsnap has on display in their CHA booth! Along with my own photos are catalog inserts with even more info about their new releases. This first shelf unit alone packs a punch of exciting new products! On the left is an innovative new inking system that I’m very excited about:  Colorbox™ Blends by Eileen Hull. It’s an foam ink applicator with the ink INSIDE…and it holds more than 10 times the ink of a traditional ink pad! There are lots of colours to choose from! In the  middle of that shelf you will see new Colorbox Art Screens for stenciling techniques: Clearsnap also offers a newly redesigned blending tool called the Colorbox Color Blender with foam pad refills you can purchase separately. There are six new Pigment ink colours for you to use with these blending…

For today’s CHA tour, we are visiting a booth filled with so many wonderful stamps and dies:  Impression Obsession. Let me tell you, the name of this company fits….because after looking at all these gorgeous dies and stamps, I was obsessed!  I want them all!!!! The rubber stamps have such beautiful detail. There are also many wonderful clear stamp sets. I was astounded by all the amazing cards on display. The newly released Valentines stamps and dies are on my shopping list! When you see all the stunning cards made with these products, then you want to use them all! The cupids are a hot seller! And don’t you just LOVE this heart flourish die? Here is a really fun display of a chalkboard stamping technique: Wow.  Decisions, decisions….time to go to their website and make…

Hello everyone! It’s Kelly here and I’m so excited to share the wonderful experience the Canadian Scrapbooker team had at last weekend’s Craft and Hobby Association (CHA) tradeshow in Anaheim, California.  Let me tell you, so many companies have new products and collections that will make you a very happy crafter!  I will be blogging here daily for the next week to give you an inside look at the booths and projects that impressed our team. Today, we will peek inside the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L booth.  Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L has re-designed their packaging and also updated their website.  Click HERE to visit their website where you will also find a link to their fantastic blog that has tons of inspiring projects and tutorials.  Not only do they have awesome adhesive, they now offer crafters 3D Foam Designer Shapes.  Five new shapes were debuted at the tradeshow: …

By Connie Nichol with Fancy Pants Designs, May Arts ribbon, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and Beacon Adhesive Supplies:  Bazzill Basics Paper cardstock, Fancy Pants Designs patterned paper, stickers and wood title, May Arts ribbon, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L  and Beacon Adhesive. I love pretty much all products by Fancy Pants Designs but the Collecting Moments  line  released in the summer of 2013 is one of my favourites.   I find that the colours and patterns are perfect for all sorts of projects – girl layouts, boy layouts, cards – you name it.  Here’s a layout I did featuring some silly selfie photos I took with my friends Kim and Jackie on a recent trip to Nova Scotia.  When I look at these pictures, I am instantly transported back to Mavillette Beach and the feeling of that wind!!!  I used May Arts Ribbon natural burlap string to mimic the energy of the wind…

Hello everyone – Kim Gowdy here on the blog today! I have a confession. I feel scrapbookers /card makers guilt because I was just NOT on the ball this year when it came to making Christmas cards. Not just making them, I couldn’t seem to get them mailed out either. Some years are just like that. For whatever reason; our time gets pulled away from us and used for other things. So I choose NOT to stress [too much] over this and thought I can still share homemade cards. This year I will send out homemade Thank You cards, for Christmas gifts received, and make a few Happy New Year cards to  those who REALLY should have gotten at least a store bought Christmas card! So I created this little card to send out after the holidays! Pretty simple card using 3 different stamps from Impression Obsession…how I love their…
