Some layouts are harder than others to create. Lots of things can stall the process…not having the right product, not enough time, not being inspired or lack of creative mojo. Though the memory in my layout is a happy one, it was tough to create because our dear friend Christy passed away in August. I wanted this page to honour who she was to me…a creative soul, friend, teacher. I hold dear to my heart the laughs, conversations and art that were shared during this art retreat in the Spring. Supplies: Magenta Nuance powders, Simple Stories patterned paper & wooden heart, Core’dinations vellum & glitter cardstock, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and Kelly Klapstein’s word stamps were perfect for what I wanted to say. Here is a blog post from Christy from a few years ago for you to enjoy. Written in Christy’s words. The other day I was working on this layout with the fabulous paper and embellishments from FarmHouse Paper company and May Arts ribbon and I really felt like the beautiful rustic quality needed to be accented and off set with a little glitter. Perplexed with how to add it, I decided not to over think it and grabbed my trusty Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L tape runner and added stripes of the tape runner over the paper. I then poured Craft& Glitz Glamour Glitter all over the tape and burnished it with my finger. I poured off the excess glitter and my paper was ready to build my layout on top off. The glittery stripes add a great level of texture and interest. This simple technique, done with a versatile adhesive…
