Hi everyone,Kim here ? Thanks for checking into the CSM blog today. I just wanted to share this month’s sketch, designed by Kelly Klapstein. This month’s sketch was designed with card making in mind, ‘tis the season of making, giving and receiving cards! It’s a great sketch! I however used it as a starting point for a layout. That’s is the cool thing about sketches…they are simply a starting point for creativity. I used Close to My Heart’s “City Sidewalk” collection. I ADORE everything about this collection, it’s full of fun, whimsical papers, die cuts and glittery accents and also has a corresponding Cricut cartridge to keep the fun going strong! I decided to make a gift card holder while I had all this fun product out, I’ll need a few more before December 25th! As you can see, I did not follow the sketch for the card…but plan to…
Kim here with a cute card share before I drop it in the mail! It’s no secret among our team that I love Heartfelt Creations Under the Sea collection! The colours, the stamps and dies speak to my love of all things ocean. Here’s a quick card I put together for my Aunt’s upcoming birthday using patterned paper and dies from the collection and some Core’dinations cardstock. So many different products were used to pull the card together, let me share them in a few detail shots. I have used Clearsnap’s Smooch and Top Boss to add colour and a bit more depth to the flower. Jackie showed you this technique recently in a CSM Live on Facebook (Oct. 12/2016). I couldn’t’ resist adding some Ranger Stickles to the Seahorse and fish fins for some added sparkle and iridescence. And one of my favourite things to add to my projects lately…irRESISTable…

Hello! Kim here! Just a quick share of my layout inspired by the November Sketchy Challenge! When I first saw the sketch designed by Kelly Klapstein, I instinctively thought of columns of journaling! It’s very simple, but I LOVE how it turned out! I designed the text columns in Photoshop Elements 14, printed on a piece of 12×12 cardstock and then added my pictures, paper and embellishments! Supplies used: Stampin’ Up cardstock, Day to Day stamps, ink & marker / Graphic 45 patterned paper from Enchanted Forest collection / Simple Stories Life in Color wooden veneers / Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L / American Crafts Thickers When was the last time you used our Sketchy Challenge? It’s such a great place to start the creative process. Of course we’d LOVE for you to also share to our Sketchy Gallery, to inspire others! Be sure to get your copy of the Fall…
Hello Friday! Hello WHERE YOU CREATE! We took a break from these posts in the summer as submissions started to quiet down. We are ready to get back to sharing your creative spaces again, but need to put you to work! Go take pictures, tell us about your space and send it in! We will start the ball rolling again with our design team member Tracy McLennon. When we last shared Tracy’s creative space she described it as follows: “My crafting area would be best described as compact, organized and chaotic…all at the same time.” Here is what she has to share now. Tracy McLennon here, hi! We’ve recently moved, and as much as I don’t LOVE moving and all of the work it brings. I do love that I got to set up a new craft room, in a much bigger space than I’ve had. I thought I…

“Faux Watercolor Stamping Bliss” ideas for Christmas. Hello everyone – Cathie Allan here! One of my classes this year is a wonderful, flexible class called “Faux Watercolor Stamping Bliss”. To achieve the watercolor look for this project we did not even use water. The result was a page and a tag/card that did not warp or heave and we did not have to use a bucket of mediums to create it. I love using my mediums in unique ways, allowing them to multitask for me and mimic other products. The projects that we complete in the class looked like this …. A wonderful masculine page and great “guy” card. Well for this blog post I took those same techniques, changed the colors, changed the stamps and stencils, changed the cut of my Super Stock and came up with some very “timely” Christmas ideas. So for those of you who took…
