If you are looking for a product that you can use in β€œassorted ways” –Β a product you can stamp with, emboss with, do resist techniques, use to add color to an image with instead of markers, use with stencils and more – a product that you can happily create with, that is the most lightfast of all the stamping mediums out there and allows you to work from light color to dark color and back to light again. By now I am guessing you know I am referring to pigment ink. It tends to be my β€œgo to medium” because it is simply so versatile AND then instead of buying more & more & more product I can happily buy more stamps and more stencils (yes, I may have a few of these) to entertain my β€œcreative urges”. Lately I have been using my pigment ink to create watercolor looks.…

Today on our blog we welcome Michelle Marks, who is going to show you how she used our Sketchy Challenge to design cards! Happy Spring dear Canadian Scrapbooker readers…ummm…at least I’m hoping it’s spring somewhere in Canada by now because it sure hasn’t reached Nfld yet! Michelle here today from Corner Brook, Nfld. Apparently I’m supposed to tell you a little about me so here goes. I’m a 47 year old mom to two β€œalmost” grown kids, a daughter 21 years old and a son 19 years old. I am also spoiled wife to Rob, and this summer we will be celebrating our 25th anniversary. Our home also houses a small zoo…one cat, one geriatric dog, two dwarf hamsters and some fish… plus a gazillion wild birds that empty my feeders faster than I can fill them. There’d be a lot more animals if my kids had their way but…

Hi, Connie here today. Β I love this time of year at Stampin’ Up!Β  Not only is there fun new products available from the 2015 Occasions catalogue, it is also Sale-a-brationΒ  time.Β  This meansΒ  that when you buy $60 worth of product, you earn something free as a bonusΒ  – and there is a lot of free items to pick from. Β Β You can see the Sale-A-Bration catalogue brochure and all the other Stampin’ Up! catalogues here. Today I am featuring a few cards I made with the From the Garden stamp and die bundle available in the new Occasions catalogue and the Irresistibly Yours Designer Series patterned paper I received as my Sale-A-Bration bonus.Β Β Β  This paper is magic!Β  It is white paper with a glossy white pattern that you can colour with markers or ink to become whatever colour you choose. The paper is so versatile, you can make it look…

Hi everybody, Connie Nichol here. Halloween is fast approaching, bringing to mind ghouls, goblins, ghosts and all things spooky. My kids love this time of year, especially the dressing up in costumes part, although the abundance of treats collected door to door doesn’t hurt either. Stampin’ Up! has so many cute Halloween themed products in their holiday catalogue. I especially adore the Motley Monsters designer series patterned paper.Β  The patterns and colours are fun and bright, so the resulting projects are cheery and upbeat. Here’s the layout I created using some of these papers. I cut a few cardstock leaves with the Fun Fall Framelit dies but most of the interesting stuff on the page is from fussy cut elements from the patterned papers themselves.Β  I cut out extra tree trunks and layered them onto the base sheet of patterned paper using dimensional adhesive (doubling up the adhesive to add…

JUST KEEPING IT β€œSCARILY” SIMPLE AND HANDSOME TOO! It’s Halloween and time for trick or treating.Β  Therefore, I decided toΒ  β€œtreat” myself by creating this fun Halloween card and then using the same basic techniques, supplies and stampsΒ  (okay, so I changed one, lol), I then treated myself a second time to this wonderful scrapbook page that bears the photo of my β€œgrandhandsomeson” Liam. Β  I kept it basic, all the inking techniques are simple and truly easy to learn and I know everyone can do them. If you have Volume #6 of Canadian Scrapbooker Basics and/or you follow my articles in Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine, you probably recognize the techniques I used. Basically I smeared Β my way to a great background using colors from the Provence, petal point from Clearsnap and this great brick background from the fine folks at Magenta. I used the same background for both the card…

Hi everyone! Jodi Wilton here today to share with you a quick card made with FabScraps & Spellbinders!Β  I put these two together because I thought FabScraps, would be a perfect match for the Spellbinders Shapeabilities- Asian Motifs: I started off by cutting a black cardstock base and adding some FabScraps paper, just inside the base. I sewed around the FabScraps paper for some extra detail. I then used the largest die from the Spellbinders Asian Motif with some FabScraps paper, and layered a square to fit just inside it. (I also sewed around this square for extra detail). Finally the Romantic TravelΒ  Die Cut book is awesome! I usedΒ  a luggage tag and added a bit of paper in it and sewed around the luggage tag. I alsoΒ  got out a FabScraps butterfly Chipboard to add to the card. The next step was to adhere the layers…

Hi everyone! Jodi Wilton here today to show aΒ quick celebration card using Core’dintationsΒ  ColorCore Cardstock and Sizzix Dies.Β  I love having birthday cards at hand, and by combining the fun bright colours of Spotted by Core’dinations ColorCore Cardstock and the fun ice cream die by Sizzix- a fun and fast card can be created!Β  Here is the card that I came up with: The card base was also Core’dinations ColorCore CardstockΒ and then added twoΒ  layersΒ  of patterned paper (Carta Bella).Β  I sewed around each piece of patterned paper for extra detail. Finally I cut out the ice cream pieces and the banner. I added some distress ink in a similar colour to each of the pieces to really bring out the spots on the cardstock.Β  Finally I used Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L foam squaresΒ to give the ice cream some dimension.Β Β  Here is another look: Supplies: Core’dinations ColorCore…

Desiree Saskiw here! IΒ must admit that I had taken a stamping hiatus for some time, but this fun Magenta β€œSavvy Symbols” stamp set inspired me to pull of the ink and embossing powders and get to work! I have always been drawn to using circles as part of my paper creations so this birthday card was no exception. I enjoyed the contrast that was created between the use soft lines in the circles and hearts, with the straight lines of the arrows. The number stamps were a fun addition; counting up to the Happy 10th birthday for my niece Jaeanna! SUPPLIES: Magenta stamps, Clearsnap ink, DCWV patterned paper, May Arts Ribbon, Stampin’ Up! embossing powder, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D foam squares and tape runner. Happy Stamping

Hello everyone from Kim Gowdy! Here is a quick post here to highlight to lovely Pincushion paper line by Bo Bunny. For this layout I used four different patterned papers from their collection as well as the chipboard die cuts and stickers. It was the perfect paper to use for this layout of my Mom; an avid quilter! The overlay of the sewing tools was cut using the new Brother ScanNCut. This is not an image in the library of the cutting machine. I found this free SVG file on line and used the free online, Canvas software to upload and convert to a file the ScanNCut could use. The whole process was quite simple. I embossed the overlay with a rough, weathered type of embossing powder [I forget who makes it as I dump my embossing powders into plastic containers for ease of use]. For a fun touch I…

Hello everyone! Β It’s Kelly here to share with you a fun Valentine card I designed using DCWV’s new Vintage Collector line. Here are the DCWV products that I used: These new DCWV cards make it so quick and easy to customize your own designs. I started with the card base and then added to the interior. I trimmed this piece of paper from the mat stack to fit inside. I chose this “Love” label from the Vintage Collector Tag Stack and added a piece of May Arts ribbon.. ThenΒ I decided to make a pocket for it using the matching Vintage Collector card stock. I drew faux stitching with a ruler around the pocket edges. I cut out the [heart] U image from a piece of paper in the Vintage Collector Mat Stack and adhered it to the centre of the pocket. And that is that! Β Pretty easy! Now…
