Honestly now. How cute is this herd? Although these are simple cards, colouring can sometimes take time. Truthfully, I don’t feel like colouring in detail most of the time. Anything that takes time is not my style. (Patience, much?) Instead, I’ll stamp several images on some white cardstock and colour while watching one of my favourite shows. And let’s get serious… January is unofficially “camp out and watch TV” month. So, how did I do it? These are Stampin’ Up! Blendabilities markers. They are alcohol based and come in sets of three, which includes a light, medium and dark shade. They have them in packs of three because it takes all the guesswork out of how to blend and shade. Hi everybody, Connie Nichol here. Halloween is fast approaching, bringing to mind ghouls, goblins, ghosts and all things spooky. My kids love this time of year, especially the dressing up in costumes part, although the abundance of treats collected door to door doesn’t hurt either. Stampin’ Up! has so many cute Halloween themed products in their holiday catalogue. I especially adore the Motley Monsters designer series patterned paper. The patterns and colours are fun and bright, so the resulting projects are cheery and upbeat. Here’s the layout I created using some of these papers. I cut a few cardstock leaves with the Fun Fall Framelit dies but most of the interesting stuff on the page is from fussy cut elements from the patterned papers themselves. JUST KEEPING IT “SCARILY” SIMPLE AND HANDSOME TOO! It’s Halloween and time for trick or treating. Therefore, I decided to “treat” myself by creating this fun Halloween card and then using the same basic techniques, supplies and stamps (okay, so I changed one, lol), I then treated myself a second time to this wonderful scrapbook page that bears the photo of my “grandhandsomeson” Liam. I kept it basic, all the inking techniques are simple and truly easy to learn and I know everyone can do them. I have been wanting to work with this paper collection from Heartfelt Creations for sometime now, but there always seems to be something else that needs to get done! Friday morning I put it on the top of my to-do list and am so happy I did. Creative time is so good for my soul! Celebrate the Journey collection also has some wonderful dies and stamps that play fabulously together! These are just a few! I chose to make my own background paper using Canadian Scrapbooker’s Superstock, Clearsnap Colorbox chalk & pigment inks and of course the wonderful stamp shown below! I matted the background with paper from the collection and began to build my card. I used the hot air balloon stamp to create my dimensional elements and layered May Arts ribbon & pieces of patterned papers to get the look I wanted.…

This is such a great way to make quick, EASY cards that look like you have spent lots of time on! Perfect for any occasion, I think the look can be endless! The set comes with lots of pieces to mix up the look and mat the cards. It is brilliantly simple! All you have to do is think up what papers and embellishments to use! Good Monday morning everyone! Connie Nichol here with a blog post featuring Sizzix Elegant Flourishes Bigz die, DCWV Coral Couture Paper Stack, Clearsnap Ink and Embossing Powder I am slowly scanning my dad’s 35 mm slides from my childhood, wanting to scrapbook them while I can still remember some of the details, or at least verify them with my parents. The colours and patterns seem to go perfectly with my pictures from the 1970’s and I love that there is a matching cardstock stack. I find the DCWV paper to be so gorgeous that it pretty much stands alone without much embellishment. So, I left the layout very simple, just adding a bit of fussy cutting and some metallic chipboard flourishes. The flourishes were just the perfect touch for this patterned paper.
