Mixed Media Tag featuring Ranger, Stampers Anonymous and Tim Holtz

Welcome to March…Pam Bray here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine Blog creating a fun little mixed media tag. Time to start creating and what better way but to grab some Tim Holtz fabulous products to create with! I am sharing a tutorial on how easy the Ranger Distress Oxides are to use along with Sizzix Dies and Stampers Anonymous Stamps to “create” a mixed media tag! Begin by die cutting a Sizzix Tag and Book Plate from white cardstock and chipboard. Apply Wild Honey to craft mat; spritz with water and drag white cardstock through the mist. Dry. Repeat with Picked Raspberry and again with Crackled Pistachio to create background paper. Remember to dry between applications. Die cut prepared cardstock using one of the dies from Sizzix Mixed Media #5 Die Set. Adhere pattern paper to the top of chipboard. Adhere prepared background to top of prepared chipboard. Stamp…

Yesturday I was sorting through and organizing my Creative Scrapbooker Magazine collection. I often have to pinch myself as it ‘s so hard to believe that it has already been over 11 years in publication. Such a dream come true! Feels like only yesturday. As I was sorting through years of magazines I definitely got squirreled looking at all the past front covers! What Will The OO’s Be? One of the things Creative Scrapbooker Magazine has become famous for over the last 11 years is how we change the oo’s, on the masthead, on each and every front cover to a funky design element. We have a ton of fun designing the oo’s to reflect the look and feel of that particular issue. Through out the years we have had a total of 48 different sets of 00’s!!! WOWZERS! We are officially one month into summer! Many of you will have taken holidays already, some will be packing up to go and others may be enjoying a “stay-cation”. Do you include creative time with your holiday time? Do your kids join you in your craft room while they are home from school or is it an off limit “mom zone”? So, today’s craft room share is really unique! I am really thrilled that Linda Kuehl shared her space…it proves that you can eke out a perfect creative space when you set your mind to it! Colouring with Chameleon Pens

Today on our blog, we welcome colouring artist Betty Hung who is sharing her thoughts on Chameleon Pens. I received a set of 22 Chameleon pens, plus a box of 16 Chameleon Color Cards last week, and I am off this week. Lucky me! What better way to spend your vacation days than trying out new coloring products? After playing with them for two days, I have to say I am in love with these Chameleon pens. Simply put, Chameleon pens are alcohol markers. They are designed so that you can achieve multiple tones from light to dark using one pen. These are alcohol based, so I wouldn’t use them on my coloring books unless they are single-sided. It soaked through 70 lb card stock paper that I used to print my coloring cards, so make sure you put extra protection underneath to protect your desk while coloring.
