Welcome to the shabby chic world of the FabScraps booth! It’s hard not to “oooooh” and “aaaaah” at everything on display. There are 5 new collections that are so beautiful! Stickers, chipboard, stencils, charms and die cuts accompany each line. The first is called “Lavender Breeze” and it is so lovely with a colour palette of soft purples and white washed wood patterns. “For the Love of Tea” is a collection that has my heart leaping for joy! For those beach vacations and summer time projects, “Summer Loving” is a wonderful new collection with a coral, mint green colour palette and images of flip flops, starfish and shells. “Woodland’s Friends” is a playful, nature themed collection well-suited for children, with a fresh purple, lime and teal colour palette. The final new collection “Call From the Wild” is designed especially to celebrate the animal species in South Africa, the home of FabScraps.…
I made an ornament. A deliciously cute ornament. The cutest part is that if you look closely, you can see a sweet Christmas tree inside. This ornament was created in the wee hours of the morning like many of my projects while I was “face-timing” with a friend. Although I had the idea of making an ornament using the Stampin’ Up! Home Sweet Home die, she came up with the idea for the mini tree inside. She’s a genius. Note: These brush trees were bought from Target in the USA when I was visiting last month. How I miss Target in Canada. Whenever I cross the border, you can see me filling up my bags with crates, twine, wire baskets, etc. Let us now bow our heads to mourn the loss of Target. In order to create this ornament, much of the work is done for you as it’s a…
It’s that time of year. You’ve got to do your Christmas Cards. I am here to tell you: Don’t be ambitious. Be realistic. You need a card that is a) beautiful b) quick and c) has a wow factor. That’s this card. Say hello to… Well. Simply – one glittery bulb using Stampin’ Up! products. You can make these in bulk quickly. Step one: Stamp using versamark your image onto watercolour paper. I chose this delightful Stampin’ Up! Happy Ornament stamp set. Heat emboss using black embossing powder. I usually do this in batches of 10. Step two: Watercolour using your Stampin’ Write markers and an aqua painter. See last months Creative Scrapbooker Magazine post on how to do this. Let air dry or use a heat gun. Step Three: It’s concoction time. To achieve this “glittery bulb” look, I took a piece of transparency and poured some Crystal…
Hello, Connie Nichol here with a Halloween project featuring the Happy Haunting Collection from Simple Stories and two stamp sets from Quietfire Design. My oldest son went through the ‘ghoul’ phase when he was 9 and 10 – he wanted only to be a scary masked ghoul with a weapon. The scarier looking the weapon, the better. Sigh. Gone were the cute animal or super hero costumes. Here’s the Simple Stories mini-kit I used: This is such a great kit! Six sheets of double sided patterned paper and a 6×12 sheet of cardstock stickers is the perfect size to create a handful of Halloween layouts and cards without being overwhelmed. Here’s the Quietfire Design stamp sets I used – there are 9 stamps in the Crows set and even more in the Halloween Wicked collection! It’s nice to have so many stamps to choose from – big and little, crows facing right…

Hi all! It’s Cathy Caines here to share some fun Halloween projects featuring Stampin’ Up! The ghosts and goblins have been out to play in my backyard since September began. I love to create for Halloween!! It could be that I get giddy at the thought of candy or that I have an excuse to search Pinterest for cool costume ideas. Regardless, if you have Halloween on your mind, here are some fun ideas using Stampin’ Up! products. First, you need a banner – this banner was created using the Chalkboard Banner Simply Created Kit. I used white Staz-On and stencils to create the word ‘BOO’, as well as rubbed it around the edges. This gave it a more spooky feel but chalk would also do the trick. My daughter would say that treats are the most important thing and most definitely the priority. I couldn’t agree more. I created this…
