Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a bright and summery scrapbook layout to lift our spirits during the dark days of November. This last week or two has been cloudy, dark and gloomy, not typical for the Canadian prairies where I live. Scrapbooking with bright colours and summer pictures helps keep my mood up. Can’t you just smell those roses? I started with a few pieces of FabScraps patterned paper. This Country Kitchen line is so pretty – I especially love the papers with sunflowers and gold finches. The papers are two sided so I used both sides of the two papers pictured below, Sunflowers and Tea Lovers. I moistened and then curled the edges of the photo mat to create some extra emphasis and stitched around the main part of the page with dark green thread. Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a heritage wedding layout featuring FabScraps papers and embellishments, a beautiful Remember word and stitched circle dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs and a romantic stamp from Quietfire Designs. I found this photograph of my grandparents wedding in a shoe box. Both of my grandparents passed away quite some time ago and I think it is important to capture the who, what, when before all the details are forgotten. Actually, if the date of the wedding was not written on the back of the photo, I would have had no idea when they got married. I was totally inspired by the May Sketch by Kelly Klapstein in the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine’s sketchy challenge. Sketches are such a fast way to get started on a new layout. In September, Kelly Klapstein has been Guest Designer over at the Quietfire Design blog. On Friday she shared her second project, a gorgeous Thanksgiving card. Altering ribbon is fun, fast and frugal!!!!! Kelly Klapstein altered the black ribbon on this layout and then created a ribbon frame for her photo! All the way from South Africa, FabScraps always delivers a gorgeous shabby chic display at CHA. This show was no exception. Wow. Their paper crafted dresses on mannequins are simply amazing and showcase their new collections. Just look at the incredible details… Up close… The metal embellishments and zipper edges you see on this particular dress above are from their new line of products, aptly titled “Addictive Scrapping Goodies” Four new collections were debuted at the show, and each set of papers has matching chipboard die cuts.
