Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a bright and summery scrapbook layout to lift our spirits during the dark days of November.  This last week or two has been cloudy, dark and gloomy, not typical for the Canadian prairies where I live.  Scrapbooking with bright colours and summer pictures helps keep my mood up.  Can’t you just smell those roses? I started with a few pieces of FabScraps patterned paper.  This Country Kitchen line is so pretty – I especially love the papers with sunflowers and gold finches.  The papers are two sided  so I used both sides of the two papers pictured below, Sunflowers and Tea Lovers.  I moistened and then curled the edges of the photo mat to create some extra emphasis and stitched around the main part of the page with dark green thread. I fussy cut a few extra sunflowers and mounted them with dimensional foam…

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a heritage wedding layout featuring FabScraps papers and embellishments, a beautiful Remember word and stitched circle dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs and a romantic stamp from Quietfire Designs. I was totally inspired by the May Sketch by Kelly Klapstein in the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine’s sketchy challenge.  Sketches are such a fast way to get started on a new layout.  I flipped this one and used a paper doily from the dollar store for the circular element.  This sketch…

One of my favourite things is truly a scrapbook layout about anything CANADIAN!  I sincerely have a soft spot for this beautiful country I call home. Over the next few weeks I will be highlighting some layouts our design team created about their hometowns! I LOVE THEM ALL (Yep the layouts and the wonderful girls on my team)! Meet Kim Gowdy Kim has been apart of Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine almost since the beginning! She was most definitely our biggest cheerleader from day 1 and over the years has become an important part of our online presence, design team and editorial planning.  THANK YOU Kim! Here is Kim’s take on our page call “My Hometown” SUPPLIES: Bazzill Basics Paper cardstock, FabScraps patterned paper, Sizzix dies and Big Shot die Cutting machine, Stampin’ Up! buttons, Clearsnap ink, May Arts twine, Xyron Create-A-Sticker adhesive. To create this layout Kim used some gorgeous barnwood like paper from FabScraps Beachcomber Collection.…

All the way from South Africa, FabScraps always delivers a gorgeous shabby chic display at CHA.  This show was no exception.  Wow. Their paper crafted dresses on mannequins are simply amazing and showcase their new collections. Just look at the incredible details… Up close… The metal embellishments and zipper edges you see on this particular dress above are from their new line of products, aptly titled “Addictive Scrapping Goodies” Four new collections were debuted at the show, and each set of papers has matching chipboard die cuts. Here is Retro Twist, with a vibrant purple colour palette and fun geometric patterns… Then there is Beachcomber, a nautical theme… Country Living has beautiful feminine floral patterns, along with vintage images of table settings… The French Heritage collection includes some lovely peacock colours and graphics… And of course, there…

Are you familiar with FabScraps? They are a company from Africa and they have a ton of gorgeous shabby chic products including patterned paper, chipboard, embellishments, journaling cards and so much more.
