Hey Creative Scrapbooker Magazine Fans! Katelyn Grosart on the blog today creating with the Simple Stories Always & Forever collection.I’m excited to be back on the blog to share with you my love themed project. Using the Always & Forever Collection from Simple Stories, some adhesive from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, a wood piece from Southern Ridge Trading Company and a variety of products from Ranger Ink, I was able to create this beautiful Every Love Story Wall Hanging. Youโ€™ll want to grab a cup of your favourite beverage as I share with you how I created my wall hanging. For the base of my project, I used a wood piece from Southern Ridge Trading Company.ย  You’ll need to apply three coats of Black Soot Distress Paint from Ranger Ink to the wood piece. After the paint has dried, rub the Tarnished Brass Distress Crayon from Ranger Ink around the edges…

Looking back to the Fall 2013 issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine when Christy Riopel crafted up a “Crafty Halloween” feature just in time to inspire all those crafty halloween people out there.ย  This feature was full of interesting, easy to create and relatively inexpensive ideas to decorate your home for a party, for the big halloween day or to craft with kids at school or in play groups. Scary Apothecaryย  One of the things I loved the most about Christy’s article was this apothecary set up. Christy simply filled tiny glass bottles ofย  different shapes and sizes with things like rocks, grains, rice – whatever – she added some labels and BOOM – you got yourself a scary looking medicine cabnet! How fun!!!! Spellbook Add even MORE spookiness to your medicine cabnet by creating a SPELLBOOK! This is so Harry Potter. You will have a ton of fun addingย  your…

Welcome to the shabby chic world of the FabScraps booth! It’s hard not to “oooooh” and “aaaaah” at everything on display. There areย 5 new collections that are so beautiful! Stickers, chipboard, stencils, charms and die cuts accompany each line. The first is called “Lavender Breeze” and it is so lovely with a colour palette of soft purples and white washed wood patterns. “For the Love of Tea” is a collection that has my heart leaping for joy! For those beach vacations and summer time projects, “Summer Loving” is a wonderful new collection with a coral, mint green colour palette and images of flip flops, starfish and shells. “Woodland’s Friends” is a playful, nature themed collection well-suited for children, with a fresh purple, limeย and teal colour palette. The final new collection “Call From the Wild” ย is designed especially to celebrate theย animal species in South Africa, the home of FabScraps.…

In loving memory of Christy Riopel – here is a page from Creative Scrapbooker Magazine Winter 2012 issue. Christy wrote and designed a feature article called Home for the Holidays. In this article she designed a number of home decor Christmas themed projects – including this beautiful place setting featuring Bo Bunny Her designs were classic. So clean and simple yet elegant. Christy truly had a gift for designing. Thinking of you everyday Christy All my love Creative Scrapbooker Magazine is honoured to announce that we have started an ART Scholarship in Christy’s name. Ghoultide Greetings Mixed Media Wall Hanging By Katelyn Grosart Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans! With Halloween right around the corner I thought that it would be fun to share with you how to create a mixed media wall hanging piece as a perfect home dรฉcor addition to any spot in your home. Using stamps, charms and embossing powders from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies and pairing them with Ranger Ink products, I was able to create a fun piece. Youโ€™ll want to grab a cup of your favourite beverage as I have a tutorial for you, so that you can recreate it in the comforts of your own home. To start, youโ€™ll need a 5 ยฝโ€ x 5 ยฝโ€ wood piece. I managed to pick one up that was already meant to be used as a wall hanging. Once you have your piece in front of you, youโ€™ll need to apply 2…

Itโ€™s that time of year again — time for my annual trip to IKEA to get dorm appropriate stuff for โ€œthe kidโ€….ย  And, if Iโ€™m perfectly honest, it becomes more in an inspiration station for me! Wondering around the store I came across a little bin with some paper frames shaped as buildings in them.ย ย  The GLON set was meant to be coloured with markersโ€ฆย  but I had other plans for them!!ย  …and I dug out โ€œthe kidโ€™sโ€ grade 12 picture to show you! Happy first day of Fall!ย  Nicole here from Nicole Wright Designs and Iโ€™m excited to share my most favorite time of yearโ€ฆ Fall! I just got all my Sizzix dies to play with and I went for the Dashing Deer first knowing I was somehow going to create a fall project. ย Well I usually have some idea of what I may create. ย This one needed lots of leaves and burlap. Onto the fun! I decided to layer up the antlers with the mat board cut 2 times and a layer of Sizzixย Leather Paper. ย I cut the head and upper body with some scrap Core paper. ย For the leaves I made my own paper using watercolor paper. I grabbed my Ranger Distress Spray Stains peeled paint, carved pumpkin and fossilized amber. ย Spritz and spray.ย  Apply matching distress inks to intensify the colour. Now that the paper is dry I can cut…

Today on the blog we welcome Katelyn Grosart Hi Everyone! Iโ€™m Katelyn Grosart and I live in beautiful Calgary, Alberta with my boyfriend of 6 years.ย  Iโ€™ve spent the last 7 years in the papercrafting worldย  creating cards, mixed media pages, scrapbook layouts, mini albums and altered items. In my spare time when Iโ€™m not crafting I like to read a good book and when the weather is nice, youโ€™ll often find me outside taking advantage of the beautiful Canadian weather. Iโ€™m excited to be a guest blogger today for the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. The wonderful ladies at the magazine asked if I wanted to guest blog for them and I couldnโ€™t pass up this amazing opportunity. ย With summer right around the corner I thought that I would share with you how to create your own under the sea themed reverse canvas featuring Graphic 45โ€™s โ€œVoyage Beneath the Seaโ€…
