In light of all the world events that are happening – I have been truly enjoying our Thankful theme of cards over the past few months.  We all have so much to be thankful for. Todays card, Designed by Kerry Engel,  features products from the inkiest of companies – Clearsnap SUPPLIES: Canadian Scrapbooker Super Stock, Clearsnap ColorBox Fluid Chalk ink, pigment ink and re-inkers, Quietfire Design and Magenta stamps, May Arts ribbon, Tombow pen and adhesives. Take a moment today – give someone a hug – tell someone thank you – send a smile to a stranger. Love and gratefulness is powerful. Happy Thursday!

Here is one of my favourite layouts in the Fall 2015 issue of Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine that captures a group of friends in their last year of school together. Kerry Engel designed this layout using products from a few of our Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival Sponsors! She used Core’dinations ColorCore Cardstock Tombow Dual Brush Markers Viva Décor Inka Gold Sizzix stamps with co-ordinating dies Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L I would like to thank all these great companies for being one of our Seriously the best sponsors EVER! THANK YOU SOOO MUCH! Visit our website CLICK HERE for all the details!!!

Today we have Kerry Engel as our Guest Blogger, and she is sharing how she is using up her stash by making something new with something old! I have a confession. I find card making stressful. I’m a scrapbooker. I marvel at the beautiful cards that card-makers create. The meticulous stamping, perfect embossing and amazing colouring… I have trouble thinking without a photograph and yet, I still make cards. Mostly to use up my stash because …I have stash-guilt. I got on a card-roll earlier this summer when my daughter came downstairs and declared, “We are out of cards!” Buying cards just feels wrong when I can make them so I tend to go on a card-making-bender each summer. This year, my card-making-bender was made simpler by the addition of the Core’dinations ColorCore Polka Dot Pop card package. I need to confess two things. I love Kraft coloured paper and…

One of the best parts of going to a crop is getting to play with our friends’ supplies. Last March, on the first night of our weekend crop at Pigeon Lake, I spied this row of  Aladine Izinks Pigment Ink distributed by Clearsnap. That night I dreamed about Clearnsp Izinks all night. I literally dreamed about them. Dripping them actually! I was so excited to get my hands on the Izink pigment inks that I woke up before everyone else. I used Canadian Scrapbooker Super Stock (CSS) as my base, and as I wasn’t sure how the Izink would drip I used gesso on my second page. The first page was naked. Newport Beach layout: Izink on Naked CSS I’m not really sure what verb best describes the action required to place Izink on your page. It’s not really a drop. It’s a mashup of a plop and a dab… it’s…

Today on our blog, we welcome Kerry Engel.  We love Kerry’s artistic style of scrapbooking! Hello everyone, my name is Kerry Engel.  I am a scrapbooker, amateur photographer, wanna be art journaler (it’s a word – I looked it up) and an on-line learning junkie.  I built my first scrapbook back in 1988 with photo corners, a black pen, a Hutchings and Patrick Scrapbook and probably rubber cement. I googled Hutchings and Patrick and they are now listed as vintage on Etsy.  Gotta say, that kind of hurts. I also need to confess that I was editor of my high school year book, so I’ve been addicted to memory keeping for a very long time. I first heard about ‘modern’ scrapbooking back in 1993 as we drove through Utah. I remember getting all excited listening to the lady on the radio talk about acid free papers and books. It wasn’t until…
