Welcome to another WHERE YOU CREATE post. If you are a fan of Tim Holtz, Ranger or Sizzix I know you will love the craft space we are about to share. Even if your creative style differs, we are confident you too will swoon over Nicole Wright’s scrapbooking room. Her craft room is not big…but WOWSERS, it packs a punch! In Nicole’s Words I have a very small but mighty craft space. This 8×12 room is designed to maximize space and functionality with storage on walls. I create on an 80+ year old oak desk belonging to my husband’s grandfather. Everything is designed around this vintage centrepiece. Wire baskets hold my stamps and apple crate boxes house my extensive Sizzix library. IKEA wire shelves are perfect for all my Ranger inky things. Glass jars are full of seasonal embellishments, twine and paper dolls. Floating shelves show off my favorite pieces I…
…so here we are again, ready to visit another creative space, the last Where You Create of September! I feel we just rolled into this month and here we are ready to flip the calendar page again! Does anyone else feel this year is simply zipping along too fast? As I continue to share beautiful scrapbooking rooms, I need to spend a bit more time organizing my own space…it’s the never-ending dilemma of “not enough hours in the day”! Today we are re-visiting Sandra Dower’s creative space! We shared Sandra’s scrapbooking room back in August of 2014, I LOVE that she has sent some more pictures of a smaller space as she transitions to a new larger craft room. Sandra says: “I love seeing everyone’s scrapbook rooms! So many great ideas. I had my room on Where You Create August 15, 2014 Since then I have moved to a smaller…
Has anyone else felt a change to the air? My toes have been chilly in the mornings and warm in the afternoons [except today! …they are still cold!] September makes me want to organize my world again, add a bit of routine back to my life and get ready to “hunker” in for the colder months ahead. I must say, I am looking forward to a bit more time in my craft room! I have been sorting through my stash a bit, getting layout plans in my head and thinking about how to organize my stuff. This seems to be an ever-evolving system…two steps forward and one back! Who really knows? After seeing so many wonderful craft rooms, I have to say that organization is NOT a one size fits all system! But from each submission we receive and share for WHERE YOU CREATE we get ideas we never thought…
Creative spaces and the 1st of September! Hope everyone is gearing up for a wonderful long week-end, it’s like the last hoorah before we get back into routine again. My son is no longer in school, but I must admit September routines are like resolutions in January…the are deeply engrained! I look forward to spending more time in my creative space as the weather cools. We’ll keep our intro short today as Alyson Mayo has a great photo share for us…here we go! Let’s take a peek… I have been told several times that I have a very interesting (and organized) creative space. I actually deal with diagnosed OCD and it manifests itself in the form of perfectionism so I can’t stand disorganization. I also love the colour turquoise so that was a huge factor when choosing elements for my space.I am fortunate to have a large room in my…
Do you want to know something? It may sound crazy…this will be the LAST Where You Create share before the kids go back to school! Where the heck did summer go? Hoping yours has been as awesome as mine, though I have worked lots, my family managed time for holidays and fun. We must, summers can be short in Alberta, Canada. That being said, I refer to “summer” as the school holidays…we still have lots of time for wonderful weather, be sure to get out and enjoy it! …BUT! While we continue to have lovely day light…get your camera out and snap a few shots of your creative spaces and fill up my email with your WYC submissions! This week we are heading south to Hanover, Pennsylvania, USA! My name is Anita Fordyce and I live in Hanover, PA, which is near Gettysburg. I have been scrapbooking for about 20…
Well here we are! The last Where You Create in June! I hope once everyone gets into summer mode…a few more of you will snap some photos and share a bit about your creative spaces! Today we’ll be checking out Kathy Fast’s creative space…I know you’ll LOVE it! Hi there! I would really like to share my new space with you and other creative people! I was struggling with my crafting space for several years. My husband had built me a wonderful “studio” desk but I outgrew it once my crafting migrated from personal scrapbooking to creating hand-painted signs. I found myself taking over the dining room table & kitchen island! My husband graciously agreed that I needed a proper space of my own (or maybe he just got tired of my stuff taking over every room of the house!). I now have an absolutely beautiful 12’ x 12’ cabin just for my…
How can it already be the last Friday of May? I feel the months are just flying by this year! Maybe a sign of getting older or a sign of too much on my plate…maybe just a tad of each! Today’s creative space kind of plays into this concept of time flying by! Last year I asked Lisa to share some photos of her creative space with me. I had the pleasure of meeting Lisa at a retreat a few years back and was in awe of her supply haul and could only imagine how and where she stored it at home! Lisa kindly agreed to send some pictures at the exact time my computer crashed and I opted to join team Mac! Changing from a PC to Mac came with a learning curve and lost photos from Lisa as I learned a new workflow! A year flew by! I…
Here we are again, middle of January already! I am starting to notice a little more daylight to each day. I CRAVE longer days! Heck I CRAVE spring! Seems we have been in the throes of winter for an awfully long time; dark, grey cold days! Today I want to share Jamie Monkman’s scrapbooking space! It is wonderfully organized, bright & cheery room! This is just the BURST of color my life needs! This creative space is sure to waken your MOJO! This is my cheerful scrap room. I have had 3 scrap rooms in the last 15 years, this one being the smallest but my favourite one of them all! The colours teal, lime green and orange are so bright and cheerful, they make me happy. I bought some shelving from Canadian Tire and put 4 of them side to side and back to back then added…
