Hello everyone, Kerry Engel here with one sketch – three different projects. This is a good sketch for a big or dominant photo that really tells your story. The curvy diagonal lines create movement and energy. Supplies: Creative Memories Cap and Gown Collection, Clearsnap ColorBox ink and embossing powder, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, Stampin’ Up! gold thread, Studio Calico brad. An old Colleague of mine posted her graduation photos on Facebook one day and I instantly had an urge to scrap them. The Cap and Gown collection from Creative Memories has several “2107” embellishments but it’s really a versatile collection. The colors work really well with vintage photos. I glammed it up a bit with gold embossing powder and shiny brads and thread. The papers held up well to mix media techniques. And the coordinating album is a really classy. Rustic Gears Layout by Tracy McLennon

I have wanted to create this layout for some time. This photo was the inspiration. The young man on the left hand side is my Dad, and is you look closely he’s holding a bunny in his ball glove. I am so glad that I waited until I had the Tim Holtz for Ranger Distress Oxide Inks to play with. Here is how I added the rust like colouring to the background and the largest rusty photo mat. I used watercolour paper and Ranger Distress Oxide Inks to create this rust like background. To do this you need a non stick craft mat. Stamp the ink directly onto the craft mat, spray with water and mix with your fingers. Then dip the paper into the ink/water mixture. Dry with a heat gun. Feeling Rusty by Kerry Engel This page looks like it should weigh about 3 pounds. But it doesn’t. Those gears – they are totally fake. What would take nature about 5 years to accomplish I created in roughly 20 minutes, with a little help from Pentart Rust Effects distributed by Bo Bunny The gears were cut using a Tim Holtz die cut from Sizzix. I covered them in Ranger black gesso and pressed the Rust Effect powder distributed by Bo Bunny into the wet gesso. Then I added the Rust Effect Reagent from Pentart distributed by Bo Bunny on top and brushed it around with an old paintbrush. Once dry I covered in the Pentart Varnish. I thought that would seal in the rust shavings. The gears remain pliable and very light weight. They look very realistic and give my page some lovely texture. I think I’ll do this on…
