Once upon a time there was a beautiful stamp that cried out to be used on a project or β6β J.Β This βbeautiful stampβ came from Impression Obsession and was one of their new releases at βCREATIVATIONβ which was held in Phoenix in January. This stamp, part of a βgeranium seriesβ from Impression Obsession decided to go home with Cathie and she set to work creating βsomethingβ. Not really knowing what the project would become, Cathie set about simply altering a piece of Creative Scrapbooker Super Stock with her new, stamp and the Poinsettia pigment petal point from Clearsnap. Even though the name of this particular stamp pad βscreamed Christmasβ, Cathie looked past it and simply saw it also was a great combination of colors for a geranium image. She partnered her stamp with her βCathie Allan Position-it2β, which is 3 tools in one. This tool can be used with…

Birthday Fishes Card by Kerry Engel A colleague at work was having a special birthday so I decided to make an extra large card that would accommodate numerous greeting from staff (it measured 6×12). Iβve been using my Ranger distress inks to make watercolor backgrounds for my hand lettering and thought it would make a great background for the fish stamps from Heartfelt Creations. I got a bit carried away making fish one Saturday night but it resulted in a very impressive shoal. According to Wikipedia βany group of fish that stay together for social reasons are shoaling and if the group is swimming in the same direction in a coordinated manner, they are schoolingβ. My fish were swimming in every direction and they looked really social so Iβm going with shoal. When I was done I asked my husband, βnow what do I do? How am I going to…

Stamping with your Dies by Cathie Allan Mediums and tools that multi-task always have a special place in my creative heart. I totally enjoy looking at my creative tools, toys and mediums from various sides to see what I can get them to do for me other than the βintended useβ suggested by the manufacturer. For this blog post I decided to play with the βHeart Clasp Dieβ from Art Impressions. This die makes a lovely wrap for a card but by joining two of these dies I was able to wrap my scrapbook page and then of course wrapped my photo. I then took this die a βstamp stepβ forward by applying ink to the backside of the die I thus was able to use it as a stamp. Look at that die βgoβ!! To begin I made the Art Impressions, βHeart Clasp Dieβ perform as a stamp. Apply…
SUCH A HANDSOME βDEXTERβ PUPPY! By Cathie Allan Here is a quick and fun layout using some βtimeless stamping toolsβ.Β I kept the steps for this βaltered scrapbook layoutβ simple and fast. After stamping the βLine Backgroundβ stamp from Frogβs Whiskers Ink several times on our Creative Scrapbooker Super Stock (my favorite cardstock for my projects) in Clearsnap ColorBox Blackbird, Fluid Chalk ink I added super quick coloring with my Tombow pens. Quess what? I have been stamping a long, long time and my Tombow pens are years old and still are full of ink and ready to go. The capping system is so good on these particular pens that you will get every bit of ink out of them so long as you put the caps back on. I love this! I did not do any βfancy coloringβ I just added color. After that I used my Clearsnap ColorBox…

Hi everyone – Karen Ellis here! My friend Sheri inspired me to play around with Tombow Markers and white embossing powder this week and I wanted to show you the results …. cause I LOVE it! HAHA Here’s what I used: Tombow Markers β Assorted Colours One of my favourite rubber stamp sets (Catherine Scanlon Designs, Art Gone Wild) Perfect Medium Ink (Ranger Industries) or your favourite embossing ink. White embossing powder Watercolour postcard (Strathmore) or other watercolour paper a waterbrush (not pictured) Heat Gun (not pictured) The first thing to do is emboss a stamped image onto the back of the watercolour postcard with your embossing ink and stamp.Β Β Heat to set and get ready to colour!! The embossing acts as a resist to the ink and water.Β Β Go ahead and colour a portion of your stamp with the markers and then, with a wet brush, drag the ink…
