Everyday Memories I NEED For My Lifetime! by Cathie Allan I LOVE INK ….. I LOVE INK .. .I “simply” LOVE INK! And, YES pigment ink is one of my favorite types of ink. “Why?” you ask. Beyond the fact that it is the most lightfast, most archival ink on the market … it is just so darn versatile. I can use it in so many applications that the variety of techniques that I am able to accomplish using pigment ink seems virtually endless. Do I use it for “simple” stamping … yes. Do I use if for embossing …. Yes. Do I use it when I want colors to blend seamlessly … oh, yes! Do I use it for stenciling … uh, huh. Do I use it for resist … abso stamping lutely. Can I turn it’s ability for staying wet longer into a “smear your art…
Hello Everyone! It’s Kelly Klapstein here today to share some stamping on a Father’s Day Card. With some wonderful Stampin’ Up! products, I made a really cute card (which my kids will probably give to their Dad! ha ha) These papers are actually a winter collection, but I think they work great for Father’s Day, don’t you? I used this awesome chevron border punch along the bottom of the card base. I just love this Stampin’ Up! Gorgeous Grunge set and used 3 of the stamps for this card. I stamped this striped piece to layer over the heart with the sentiment, which I hand wrote. I added that teeny jaw clip just because it’s so adorable! I also drew the heart on card stock and cut it out, then stamped the spattered dots on it. Behind the punched chevron border, inside the card base, I stamped these grunge lines:…
Today we invited a guest to our blog to share her talent as a member of BoBunny’s Design Team. Welcome, Lynn Shokoples! Hi Everyone! My name is Lynn Shokoples and I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I’ve been married for almost 30 years, have two wonderful young adult children and two wild rambunctious puppies!! They all keep my life interesting and full of laughs. I’ve been scrapbooking for as long as I can remember, even back in the days when there was just paper, scissors and a few stickers. It’s amazing to see how the industry has grown. I love to do layouts, cards, altered projects and have recently started playing with some mixed media, art journaling and making my own digital cutting files. I’ve been blessed to be part of the BoBunny Design Team for the past two years and several others teams as well. I love meeting scrapbookers…

Hi everyone! Last weekend, I had a girls’ scrappy weekend at my place and I managed to complete the impossible – I finished FIVE of my UFO’s (UnFinished Objects)!!! I’m sure some, if not all, of you can relate … They are projects that for one reason or another have been set aside – missing journaling, lack of inspiration, lack of TIME! I completed journaling for two layouts that will be used in upcoming monthly sketches, a Christmas project and set of Christmas cards and this vacation journal that I started a few years ago! It wasn’t coming together, but last weekend the stars aligned, the angels sang and it all came together! I made the journal using a variety of items: 9×12 manilla envelopes, white card stock, baseball card protectors, transparencies and even a film negative sleeve! Rather than monopolize the blog with photos of each page (there are…
I know there are many of us in love with the gorgeous styles of stamps, dies and papers designed by Heartfelt Creations. Their booth at CHA was sooo beautiful! I think this paper crafted dress form captures the essence of this wonderful company! Their floral dies are…well…to “die” for. This is evident on all their projects on display. Their newly released “Majestic Morning” collection includes a paper pack, dies and stamps. It’s gorgeous! All collections on display are stunning, actually. You can use Heartfelt Creations products to design scrapbook layouts and paper crafts too! Isn’t this birdhouse fabulous? Seeing this wall of layouts in their booth was inspirational. This layout is one of my favourites! How elegant! Valentines and Easter projects were also on display. Honestly, my head was spinning…I’d never seen so many amazing projects on display all in one place! Walking…

Along with my own photos are catalog inserts with even more info about their new releases. This first shelf unit alone packs a punch of exciting new products! On the left is an innovative new inking system that I’m very excited about: Colorbox™ Blends by Eileen Hull. It’s an foam ink applicator with the ink INSIDE…and it holds more than 10 times the ink of a traditional ink pad! There are lots of colours to choose from! In the middle of that shelf you will see new Colorbox Art Screens for stenciling techniques: Clearsnap also offers a newly redesigned blending tool called the Colorbox Color Blender with foam pad refills you can purchase separately. There are six new Pigment ink colours for you to use with these blending…

Nothing is more exciting than new markers!!! I feel like a little kid. Canuck Crafts Spectrum Noir Markers has improved and revamped their alcohol markers. I love the little rubber grips and the bigger ink reservoir…. Yet they are still very reasonably priced. I used these markers to create this great background for my art journal page. I have to confess that I have never taken any formal training in colouring with alcohol markers… I will share my hack way of colouring. 1. I started by stamping this poppy from Stampendous in black Memento ink. 2. I choose 3-5 colours that are in a similar family…from a very light to very dark. I don’t really pay attention too closely to the numbers (though they are great for a beginner). I start by colouring the lightest part of the image with a light colour. 3. I…
