All of you stamping fans are going to LOVE visiting the Impression Obsession booth! Stamps and dies….as far as the eye can see! I especially loved how this booth was organized…. all the stamps and projects in groups with the designers’ names. There were so many beautiful card samples and projects as well to showcase all the stamps! Many displays featured a Valentine theme. Even Easter stamps were on display! There are so many background stamps to choose from, aptly titled “Cover A Card.” Don’t you love the square shape? Samples of these background stamps were mounted on boards with inks of many colours. Hi everyone, Karen Ellis here… I thought I’d show you a little something that I’ve been playing with in the studio recently. Stamping on cardboard! I absolutely LOVE doing this. I use flat corrugated cardboard sheets for this so that it’s a hard, flat, not creased surface but you can use recycled cardboard too – just be sure to use a smooth piece. First, you’ll need to GESSO the front of your cardboard. This does two things: makes a white surface to stamp on so, however you colour it later, the colour will be bright and vivid. It will also make the cardboard less porous so you’ll use less paint/ink and you’ll have a little more playtime with it! Then go ahead and stamp your favourite images using a permanent stamping ink (I use Ranger’s Archival Inks). Be sure heat set the ink or let it completely dry to avoid…

JUST KEEPING IT “SCARILY” SIMPLE AND HANDSOME TOO! It’s Halloween and time for trick or treating. Therefore, I decided to “treat” myself by creating this fun Halloween card and then using the same basic techniques, supplies and stamps (okay, so I changed one, lol), I then treated myself a second time to this wonderful scrapbook page that bears the photo of my “grandhandsomeson” Liam. I kept it basic, all the inking techniques are simple and truly easy to learn and I know everyone can do them. If you have Volume #6 of Canadian Scrapbooker Basics and/or you follow my articles in Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine, you probably recognize the techniques I used. Basically I smeared my way to a great background using colors from the Provence, petal point from Clearsnap and this great brick background from the fine folks at Magenta. I have been wanting to work with this paper collection from Heartfelt Creations for sometime now, but there always seems to be something else that needs to get done! Friday morning I put it on the top of my to-do list and am so happy I did. Creative time is so good for my soul! Celebrate the Journey collection also has some wonderful dies and stamps that play fabulously together! These are just a few! I chose to make my own background paper using Canadian Scrapbooker’s Superstock, Clearsnap Colorbox chalk & pigment inks and of course the wonderful stamp shown below! I matted the background with paper from the collection and began to build my card. I used the hot air balloon stamp to create my dimensional elements and layered May Arts ribbon & pieces of patterned papers to get the look I wanted.…

Watercolouring is everywhere right now, and I am just drinking up all its wonder and glory. I want to show you how amazingly quick and easy these cards are!! To create this card you have three simple steps: On watercolour paper, stamp an image with Versamark and heat emboss it with white embossing powder. Apply heat with your heat gun. Stamp your block with your ink pad. Fill your aqua painter brush with water. Dip brush in ink and colour on your paper using brush strokes (see supply picture below) Use a heat gun to dry if you want but it’s not necessary. Gently wipe off any ink on your stamped image.Voila!! To up the stakes a little bit, this next card was created by inking the stamp and then misting the inked stamp with water. You can ink the stamp using markers or refill ink – whatever you prefer.…

Hello Everyone! It’s Kelly Klapstein here today to share some stamping on a Father’s Day Card. With some wonderful Stampin’ Up! products, I made a really cute card (which my kids will probably give to their Dad! ha ha) These papers are actually a winter collection, but I think they work great for Father’s Day, don’t you? I used this awesome chevron border punch along the bottom of the card base. I just love this Stampin’ Up! Gorgeous Grunge set and used 3 of the stamps for this card. I stamped this striped piece to layer over the heart with the sentiment, which I hand wrote. I added that teeny jaw clip just because it’s so adorable! I also drew the heart on card stock and cut it out, then stamped the spattered dots on it. Behind the punched chevron border, inside the card base, I stamped these grunge lines:…
