Today we invited a guest to our blog to share her talent as a member of BoBunny’s Design Team. ย Welcome, Lynn Shokoples! Hi Everyone! My name is Lynn Shokoples and I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Iโve been married for almost 30 years, have two wonderful young adult children and two wild rambunctious puppies!! They all keep my life interesting and full of laughs. Iโve been scrapbooking for as long as I can remember, even back in the days when there was just paper, scissors and a few stickers. Itโs amazing to see how the industry has grown. I love to do layouts, cards, altered projects and have recently started playing with some mixed media, art journaling and making my own digital cutting files. Iโve been blessed to be part of the BoBunny Design Team for the past two years and several others teams as well. I love meeting scrapbookers…

Hi everyone! Last weekend, I had a girls’ scrappy weekend at my place and I managed to complete the impossible – I finished FIVE of my UFO’s (UnFinished Objects)!!! I’m sure some, if not all, of you can relate โฆ They are projects that for one reason or another have been set aside – missing journaling, lack of inspiration, lack of TIME! ย I completed journaling for two layouts that will be used in upcoming monthly sketches, a Christmas project and set of Christmas cards and this vacation journal that I started a few years ago! ย It wasn’t coming together, but last weekend the stars aligned, the angels sang and it all came together! I made the journal using a variety of items: ย 9×12 manilla envelopes, white card stock, baseball card protectors, transparencies and even a film negative sleeve! Rather than monopolize the blog with photos of each page (there are…
I know there are many of us in love with the gorgeous styles of stamps, dies and papers designed by Heartfelt Creations. ย Their booth at CHA was sooo beautiful! I think this paper crafted dress form captures the essence of this wonderful company! Their floral dies areโฆwellโฆto “die” for. ย This is evident on all their projects on display. Their newly released “Majestic Morning” collection includes a paper pack, dies and stamps. ย It’s gorgeous! All collections on display are stunning, actually. You can use Heartfelt Creations products to design scrapbook layouts and paper crafts too! Isn’t this birdhouse fabulous? Seeing this wall of layouts in their booth was inspirational. This layout is one of my favourites! ย How elegant! Valentines and Easter projects were also on display. Honestly, my head was spinning…I’d never seen so many amazing projects on display all in one place! Walking…
All of you crafters who are crazy about ink will love seeing what Clearsnap has on display in their CHA booth! Along with my own photos are catalog inserts with even more info about their new releases. This first shelf unit alone packs a punch of exciting new products! On the left is an innovative new inking system that I’m very excited about: ย Colorboxโข Blends by Eileen Hull. It’s an foam ink applicator with the ink INSIDEโฆand it holds more than 10 times the ink of a traditional ink pad! There are lots of colours to choose from! In the ย middle of that shelf you will see new Colorbox Art Screens for stenciling techniques: Clearsnap also offers a newly redesigned blending tool called the Colorbox Color Blender with foam pad refills you can purchase separately. There are six new Pigment ink colours for you to use with these blending…
For today’s CHA tour, we are visiting a booth filled with so many wonderful stamps and dies: ย Impression Obsession. Let me tell you, the name of this company fitsโฆ.because after looking at all these gorgeous dies and stamps, I was obsessed! ย I want them all!!!! The rubber stamps have such beautiful detail. There are also many wonderful clear stamp sets. I was astounded by all the amazing cards on display. The newly released Valentines stamps and dies are on my shopping list! When you see all the stunning cards made with these products, then you want to use them all! The cupids are a hot seller! And don’t you just LOVE this heart flourish die? Here is a really fun display of a chalkboard stamping technique: Wow. ย Decisions, decisionsโฆ.time to go to their website and make…
Nothing is more exciting than new markers!!! I feel like a little kid. Canuck Crafts Spectrum Noir Markers has improved and revamped their alcohol markers. I love the little rubber grips and the bigger ink reservoirโฆ. Yet they are still very reasonably priced. I used these markers to create this great background for my art journal page. I have to confess that I have never taken any formal training in colouring with alcohol markersโฆ I will share my hack way of colouring. 1. I started by stamping this poppy from Stampendous in black Memento ink. 2. I choose 3-5 colours that are in a similar family…from a very light to very dark. I donโt really pay attention too closely to the numbers (though they are great for a beginner). I start by colouring the lightest part of the image with a light colour. 3. I…

Hello everyone – Kim Gowdy here on the blog today! I have a confession. I feel scrapbookers /card makers guilt because I was just NOT on the ball this year when it came to making Christmas cards. Not just making them, I couldnโt seem to get them mailed out either. Some years are just like that. For whatever reason; our time gets pulled away from us and used for other things. So I choose NOT to stress [too much] over this and thought I can still share homemade cards. This year I will send out homemade Thank You cards, for Christmas gifts received, and make a few Happy New Year cards to ย those who REALLY should have gotten at least a store bought Christmas card! So I created this little card to send out after the holidays! Pretty simple card using 3 different stamps from Impression Obsessionโฆhow I love their…
