I recently REALLY started to play with all my watercolor stamp sets from Art Impressions (not just collecting them – giggle giggle). AND WOW! The results are so fun and seriously so easy to create beautiful watercolor scenes. Here is a card I spotted on the Art Impressions blog designed by the very talented, Tricia O’Bin. How adorable s this design?!?!?!? I could jump right in this scene and enjoy a cup of java or two!!! Tricia used a variety of Art Impression watercolor stamp sets including the Wrought Iron Set and the Large Shops Set. She added all the beautiful colour with Tombow markers. She then cut out the pumpkins and with hat and adhered them to the mono print using Ranger Dina Wakley Media Matte Gel Medium. Using Zebra Doodler’z Gel Glitter Pens she outlined all the stamped images. This made the images glitter! You can see it here. My summer garden inspired the big floral explosion on this card. This was the first time I’ve used these watercolor stamps by Art Impressions. It was very addictive. Watching the bouquets come to life is magical. Creating depth with a mask. To create the row of stamped pots I made a mask out of the pot and used it to create depth. The first pot I stamped was the third on from the left. After I stamped the middle pot I laid down the mask on top of it and then stamped a pot to the left, overlapping the image a bit. Then I put the mask down on that second pot and stamped the far left, over lapping again. The pot on the far right was stamped last. Build a bouquet. Using the Art Impressions foliage and flower sets I created the bouquets inside my pots. Layering the branches…

Using watercolor pencils and a waterbrush is the absolute easiest way to color detailed stamped images. Adding shading and highlights using this technique has never been easier! I like to use a fine tip waterbrush pen and I dip it in water rather than filling it up with water. So really you could use a fine tip paintbrush instead! Here is the card I created. I am SERIOUSLY in love with this stamp set from Heartfelt Creations. Cottages are super trendy right now in the crafting world and this is one of my favourite designs. To create this card… Using the Heartfelt Creations Countryside Cottage stamp, stamp onto a piece of watercolor paper. I used Ranger Archival ink so that the ink doesn’t run when I add water. Stamp the image using a stamping platform. Do not remove the stamp from the platform as you will re-stamp the image once…
