Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans! Katelyn Grosart here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog to share with you a fabulous coffee tag. Although I’m not a coffee drinker myself, many of my friends are, so this is a perfect tag to give to one of them. The jumping off point for my project was the new Coffee Themed Stamps by Pam Bray & Just Java Aroma Embossing Powder which are both from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies. I combined the stamps and embossing powder with Distress Oxide Ink from Ranger Ink, Patterned Paper from Wild Whisper Designs, a die from Elizabeth Craft Designs, markers from Tombow USA, Superstock from Creative Scrapbooker Magazine and adhesive from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, I was able to create my fabulous Life Happens…Coffee Helps! Tag. You’ll want to grab a cup of your favourite beverage as I share with you how to recreate my tag at…

Each and every week, we look back in time and remember the beautiful art of our late friend and colleague Christy Riopel. Christy’s designs are timeless. So many of her creations from way back when continue to inspire us today. This week we are looking back to the Fall 2016 issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine.  Christy wrote a two-part feature article on using a variety of different types of mediums. The article was appropriately called Mad for Mediums as Christy rarely created a project without adding some kind of ooey gooey goodness! Here is one of the many projects that Christy designed featuring gesso. Gesso Resist Because gesso is a sealant, mediums will react differently on top of it then they will on paper. You can use this to your advantage by using it to create a soft resist. I call it a soft resist because it may retain a bit of…

Happy Tuesday! Kim here with a fun Aloha layout I finished up not too long ago. Do you ever find a collection of papers and embellishments and immediately know what photo[s] you would use with it? I LOVE when that happens, because that’s a big part of the creative process taken care of…sometimes the hardest! This was just the case when I saw the Sun-Kissed collection from Creative Memories! We were fortunate to get to Hawaii for the very first time in February…this paper pack and matching embellishments screamed ALOHA to me! I instantly knew what I wanted to do with this layout, so it came together quite quick…which is so not my norm! I started out with a piece of Creative Scrapbooker Superstock, my favourite base to work on. It’s 110lb cardstock and is a wonderful sturdy base to layer on. I trimmed it down so that I could…

Hello everyone! Kerry Engel here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog playing with the Paper House Productions collection – Paradise Found Beach collection. Do you ever see a paper collection and instantly know that you have a picture that was made for that collection? That’s exactly what happened when I saw the Paper House Productions “Paradise Found” collection. I’ve had this photo of my daughter on a boat cruise in Californian for about 4 years – waiting for the perfect inspiration.  I also have to admit that I’m addicted to Paper House Productions large image patterned papers. I love the challenge of building a layout that ties into the image on the paper. My goal with this layout was to keep things soft and calm like my photo, to maintain that “magic hour” glow and to tie in my image with the background paper. Here’s how I went about it.…

Windows, flowers and a bright colour scheme, can you tell that I’m ready for Spring? Hello everyone Kerry Engel here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine bloghaving some fun with Therm O Web products! When our design team package arrived bursting with Therm O Web Gina K. Designs and iCraft products –  the first thing that caught my eye were the Decofoil Clear Designer Toner Sheets with the floral sketch design. So many possibilities and they felt so springy! Toner Sheets – SO Easy to Customize The toner sheets come in a variety of designs. For this project I used Gina K. Designs Fancy Foils – Glittering Green. To add foil to the toner sheets you lay the foil of your choice, on top of the toner sheet, sandwhich everything between a piece of parchment paper and send it through the laminator. Send it fold first and avoid folds or uneven parchment…

This month design team member Betty Hung as created a gorgeous floral illustration with a TON of possibilities. Betty has left the drawing empty, with no designs within the petals. You can color it as is or you can add your own patterns as Betty has done on her take below. Here is the April Coloring Card Click Here to download. Here is Betty’s take on this month’s card that includes tons of little intricate patterns inside the petals. GORGEOUS! Betty colored her card using Tombow Dual Brush pens.Dual Brush Pens have two tips – a versatile, flexible nylon brush tip and a fine tip for smooth lines, with a single ink reservoir ensuring exact color match. Create fine, medium or bold strokes by a change in brush pressure or draw consistent lines for borders, graphics and tight drawings with the fine tip. Water-based ink is blendable, odorless and acid-free…
