It’s 2015 and guess what? I got another year older. This year, my aging friends and I decided to have a DIY gift exchange (don’t ask… we don’t even know what we were trying to achieve). With little time and my box of new Stampin’ Up! goodies from the Occasions catalog, I created my gift… several years of embarrassing pictures in one tiny album.
Introducing…. the amazing “So You Project Kit” from Stampin’ Up!
This kit comes with twenty 4×4” page protectors, a mini kraft album, “wood-sy” patterned paper, washi, wood veneers, window sheets, epoxy stickers.. and so much more!
Sorry… embarrassing photos are not included!
I am not re-inventing the wheel here but instead providing you a quick an easy way to cross off your New Years Scrapbooking Resolutions’ Project List.
I am always looking for an easy way for everything – rather than get out my sewing machine to create a pocket for the sequins, I made a “sequin sandwich” using two of the window sheets provided from the kit and secured it with washi around the edges.
Sometimes it’s too late at night to do things the hard way..
The “Smile” is an overlay that I created myself using a window sheet, a stamp and some White Staz On.
Have you noticed that I did my journaling directly on the photos? Lately, I’ve been trying to get a little more organized by printing pictures on a regular basis. By typing the journaling right onto the picture, it makes scrapbooking, especially the Project Life ™ style, so easy. I used Photoshop Elements to do all of my photo editing. I am not an expert but I learn things as I go… so I highly recommend it!
How cute is all the patterned paper? These pieces are “real life” photos. The old sweater “look” is definitely one of my favorites.
Once again, I didn’t bother to take out any adhesive – with washi tape and a stapler in hand, I got the job done! Check out the negative of the “happy” below!
This Project kit is definitely something that I would recommend – it’s jam packed with products for $24.50 Canadian (not including shipping or taxes). Make sure you check out the new Stampin’ Up! catalog and take advantage of the Sale-a-bration promotion! As always, drop me a line if you have any questions or chat with your local demonstrator.
