featuring Sizzix Eclips2 electronic die cutting machine, Core’dinations cardstock, Simple Stories patterned paper and chipboard stickers
Ha! It’s not often you run into Marilyn Monroe (since it has been reported she died in 1962), but on a vacation in California, we were happy to see her sitting on a chair in Universal Studios Hollywood. My husband was thrilled to have a photo taken with her. The April Sketch from the Canadian Scrapbooker Sketchy Challenge was perfect for scrapbooking these pictures that I took with my phone. Rather than the circles shown in the sketch, I considered using stars but finally settled on diamonds, since don’t you know, Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend.
I cut the diamonds on Core’dinations Black Magic cardstock with my Sizzix Eclips2 electronic die cutting machine. The basic shapes that are supplied with this machine are so handy. I just dragged and dropped the squishy diamond shape onto the virtual cutting mat and resized and rearranged until I had a border that I was happy with.
Once I had the cardstock cut, I just decorated with Simple Stories stickers and patterned paper from the new I Am line. For the title, I thought gold letters would be appropriate, but I had none that were the right size, so I made my own using Viva Decor Maya Gold paint and Kaisercraft Chipboard letters.
That’s it! Have a great day and be sure to share your work in the Sketchy Challenge gallery. It’s great to see all the different interpretations of the same sketch.
Happy Scrappin!
