Today on our blog we welcome our guest Cari Locken, who is part of the Simple Stories Design Team!
Hello to all you Canadian Scrapbooker fans!
I’m thrilled to be here on the CS blog today because it holds a special place in my heart. I was a part of the original design team when the magazine first came out in the winter of 2005!! I still remember Jackie emailing me and asking me if I would like to be a part of something very exciting!! After many years of creating for the magazine (almost 10 years!!) I decided it was time for me to leave last year as my life and job related activities were taking me in other directions, and my time was limited in terms of scrapbooking.
I did, however, continue on with some amazing companies out there and one of them is Simple Stories. I’m excited to share with you some of my work that I’ve created for Simple Stories. I’ve been on their Design Team since 2012 and each year they keep coming out with more amazing products. I just love the colours, designs and unique approach that they bring to our wonderful world of scrapbooking.
One of their most popular collections right now is called I AM. It’s amazing!! You can check out the entire collection HERE on their website.
Below is a layout that I created about my daughter.
This year Simple Stories also came out with some coordinating Wood Veneer embellishments which I just adore!
This collection also has this beautiful gold foil that shows through in the chipboard, papers and other embellishments. It’s beautiful.
Along with their fabulous collections they have also created mini collections. These are so great for packing up when you’re going to a crop because they don’t take up any space.
I love my Silhouette CAMEO and I’m thrilled that Simple Stories has cut & print & cut that go along with their collections. On this layout I incorporated some words that were created by Simple Stories.
Another example of how I’ve used the Simple Stories cut files is shown here in this layout below.
I used the large geotag and the arrow design. They really help tie the page together, I think.
You can see more of my work on the Simple Stories blog HERE.
Thanks for joining me today.
Thank you so much Cari for sharing your wonderful projects with Simple Stories!
