Hello! Kim here to show you how to make some gorgeous watercolour style backgrounds for your stamped images.
I will be using a Gel Printing Plate, Tombow markers, water and Canadian Scrapbooker Super Stock. The Canadian Scrapbooker Super Stock works best because it is so strong and can hold up to the amount of wet media used on this project.
I am so NOT a video person, but thought it would be easier to show you this simple technique in video format. With the magic of my iPhone…here we go!
After making the backgrounds, let them dry completely, then they are ready for you to create with! I pulled out some of my favourite Magenta Stamps to make three different cards. For this style of card I love to use Versafine Onyx Black ink. It is a pigment ink that consistently produces crisp, stamped images. I coloured a few details in with my Tombow markers, but the background adds enough interest that little else is needed! Core’dinations Cardstock was used for my mats and card base!
Thanks for checking out our blog….hope you were inspired to try something new!

This looks like a lot of fun! Need to take out the gelli plate and try this. Had not realized you could color right on it.
Wouldn’t’ve thought to use markers on my Gelli plate… thanks for the inspiration!
