Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans! Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and although I don’t normally create a lot of projects for Valentine’s Day, I wanted to create a few special cards for those special people in my life. Using the Butterfly Kisses Collection from Bo Bunny, some chipboard pieces from Southern Ridge Trading Company and pairing them up with new quarry stones and embossing powder from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies as well as a variety of products from Ranger Ink, I was able to create this beautiful vintage “Love” card. Make sure to grab a cup of your favourite beverage as I show you how to create the elements on my card as well as inspire you to recreate this project in the comforts of your own home.

From Bo Bunny’s Butterfly Kisses – Peaceful paper, cut a piece that measures 5 ¾” x 5 ¾”. Once the piece of paper is cut, distress the edges of the papers using an edge distressor. With the edges distressed, ink the edges with a blending tool and Tea Dye Distress Ink.

From Bo Bunny’s Butterfly Kisses – Breeze paper, cut a piece that measures 5 5/8” x 5 5/8”. Once the piece of paper is cut, distress the edges of the papers using an edge distressor. With the edges distressed, ink the edges with a blending tool and Tea Dye Distress Ink.

Using the Love Word from Southern Ridge Trading Company, apply two coats of Worn Lipstick Distress Paint from Ranger Ink. With the second coat of Worn Lipstick Distress Paint still slightly wet, apply a coat of Antique Linen Distress Paint from Ranger Ink to the word. Once the paint has dried, apply a layer of Emboss It Ink from Ranger Ink. With the ink applied to the Love word, sprinkle Fine Clear Gloss Embossing Powder from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies, tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Cut apart two of the Mini Connected Hearts from Southern Ridge Trading Company. With the hearts cut apart, apply two coats of Spun Sugar Distress Paint from Ranger Ink. Once the hearts have dried, lightly apply some Tea Dye Distress Ink from Ranger Ink to the hearts.

Using the Taneesha Heart from Southern Ridge Trading Company, apply two coats of Spun Sugar Distress Paint from Ranger Ink. Set the heart aside to dry.

With the Taneesha Heart dry, trace the inside of the heart onto a scrap piece of Breeze paper from Bo Bunny. Cut out the paper heart.

Using the large Victorian Lace Frame from Southern Ridge Trading Company apply a coat of Tea Dye Distress Ink from Ranger Ink to the frame.

Trace the Heart Pattern from Southern Ridge Trading Company around the inside of the Victorian Lace Frame. Once the heart pattern has been traced, cut it out. With the heart pattern now cut into a circle, apply three coats of Antique Linen Distress Paint from Ranger Ink to the heart pattern. Once the heart pattern circle has dried, ink the edges of the circle using Tea Dye Distress Ink.

Now it’s time to start assembling your card. Adhere the damask patterned paper to the plain pink patterned paper.

Next, adhere the heart pattern circle to the middle of the damask patterned paper. With the heart pattern circle adhered, adhere the frame overtop of the circle, making sure the frame sits around the heart pattern circle.

Adhere the patterned paper heart to the middle of the heart pattern circle. Once the patterned paper heart is adhered, adhere the heart overtop of the patterned paper heart.

Adhere the two small hearts to the right of the large heart. With the small hearts adhered, adhere the Love word to the bottom of the large heart. The “e” will sit partially on the small hearts.

In the top left hand corner of the large heart, adhere four tan roses, four light pink roses and five pink/white roses as desired in the corner.

In the bottom right hand corner of the Victorian Lace Frame, adhere four tan roses, five light pink roses and six pink/white roses as desired in the corner.

To finish in amongst the flowers, adhere the fabulous new pyrite stones from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies in amongst the flowers using Glossy Accents from Ranger Ink.

To finish the assembly part of your card, cut a piece of Dusty Rose Double Dot from Bo Bunny that measures 6” x 12”, score at 6”.  Adhere your card front to the double dot paper. Here are a few close up pictures of all the elements on my card once it’s been adhered to the card base.

I hope that you have fun creating and making this “Love” card to give to that special someone in your life.
