Over the years we have shared so many wonderful memories with Christy Riopel whether it be scrapbooking, touring a city, giggling over a tasty meal or simply enjoying the love we all share of ART. Of all these memories I am most grateful for our TV Show – Technique Tasters that we filmed together in Calgary.
After a few years of doing the show we finally convinced Christy to join us and share her creative soul with our online community. I am so glad she said YES! In a very short time we filmed SIX shows – and had soooo many more planned for the future.
We have – forever – in our memory boxes these videos of her laughing, creating and teaching us.
Technique Tasters – Web Show #85 – Layering with Die Cuts
This was one of our very first shows filmed together. Christy was a natural. I briefly explained to her the details on how the show was filmed, what she should bring and what techniques she should teach. Christy needed almost no guidance as she just knew. Working with Christy was a dream. SUPPLIES: Simple Stories patterned paper, stickers and chipboard, Stampin’ Up! ink, cardstock and adhesive, Elizabeth Craft Designs dies, Tombow Mono Liquid adhesive.
This is the layout Christy created for the show. It inspired me personally to pull out all my intricate dies. She made it look so easy.
Grab a coffee and watch as Christy walks us through intricate dies, stamping a title and creating a beautiful layout effortlessly.
I hope this video inspires you to grab your intricate dies and start creating. More than that, I hope it reminds you to get BEHIND the camera. Film, photograph and scrapbook YOU! These are the memories you leave behind that will be cherished FOREVER!
Creative Scrapbooker Magazine is honoured to announce that we have started an ART Scholarship in Christy’s name. For those of you interested in honouring Christy Riopel and helping her legacy of ART continue, we are collecting donations for art scholarships for youth through the Boys & Girls Club of Calgary.
