Christy Riopel designed the following layout featuring FabScraps for the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog approximately 4 years ago. The line of patterned paper and chipboard from FabScraps no longer exists however the beauty of the design is timeless.
The Blog Post
The copy for the blog post that Christy wrote was very short and to the point….exactly like Christy. There was nothing complicated about her teachings and her designs.
Here is the post …. as written in her words….
“I wanted my layout to hint towards the military nature of the Museum so I cut pennant flags from FabScraps patterned paper and arranged them like a soldiers medals. I curled the paper with my fingers to add dimension to the page. I used Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D foam squares to attach the flags so they would stand up from the page.” Christy Riopel
Giggle Giggle – like I said – the blog post was short and tooo the point!
The Project

The Products
Although FabScraps no longer creates this military themed collection – take a minute to visit their website. There is wide array of products for you to choose from and fall in love with. I am forever blown away by the HUGE amount of metal charms and embellishments they create. WOWZERS – you name it – they’ve got it!

Christy used Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares to adhere the banners to her layout. This created that dimension she was talking about. I am sure this layout has inspired you to create your next project. Thanks so much for stopping into our blog and for enjoying our weekly #RememberingChristy segments.
Happy Scrapbooking Everyone!
In loving memory of Christy Riopel – we continue to raise money for the Christy Riopel Art Scholarship. To date – one scholarship has been given through The Boys & Girls club of Calgary. This warms my heart knowing that Christy continues to spread gentle, caring and inspiring love through art in our world. Thank you so much to everyone who donates. We appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts.
