Hello everyone – Noreen Smith here today. I’m so happy to be here on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog to share a layout created with Creative Memories’ new Countryside Comforts collection! This is a HUGE collection of gorgeous double-sided patterned papers, printed vellum, stickers, laser-cut word art embellishments, slide-in cards, pre-designed pages in both 12” x 12” and 8” x 8” sizes and stunning coordinating album covers! The patterns and colors in the collection are rich, muted tones that call to mind cozy fabrics like retro plaid and floral upholstery and homey cross stitch samplers, and I couldn’t wait to use them with some family photos taken last fall. I also wanted to play with some of Creative Memories amazing punches, especially the new Victorian Fence Border Punch.I used two pieces of Beige Cardstock as the base for my double page spread as it provides a warmer, softer background than white. I trimmed some of the green toned paper with the wavy blade of the 12” Decorative Trimmer to create a hilly background.
I added a circle cut from the rust paper over top of that and a tree cut from Brown Cardstock using my Cricut and an old Creative Memories Cricut Cartridge called Cheerful Seasons. I punched two 12” sections of the Victorian Fence Border from the woodgrain paper, and adhered it on top of my hilly background.
Strips of contrasting paper and decorative stickers borders were layered on top of each side of the fence. I punched a few cute birds with the Outdoor Adventure Quartet Punch and several leaves with the Leaf Trio Punch to complete my fall scene. I added clusters of stickers and laser-cut words help to create additional layers and interest, and then fished off the layout with some faux stitch marks and minimal journaling along the edge of my hills with the Brown Dual-Tip Pen.All Creative Memories products featured in these projects are available in Canada on my CM website, and you can also find advisors in the US and other countries by using the Advisor Lookup feature.
