Hello everyone! Nicole Wright here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine creating a fun Christmas tag. Christmas Tag featuring Ranger | Designed by Nicole Wright | Creative Scrapbooker Magazine #scrapbooking #christmas #rangerHoliday crafting is in full swing and you may have a Christmas tag or two left to create. Today I am sharing this easy resist background for your next Christmas tag or any paper crafting project.  Plaid is one of my favourite patterns and it’s even more fun to make your own background.  This way you can coordinate any colour you want.   It only takes a few easy steps and a lot of inky fingers. Lets get started.

Step One

Putting Creative Scrapbooker Super Stock card stock through it’s paces with stenciling, embossing, spraying and inking for this tag.  Start with the clear embossing powder and stencil to create the resist.

Step Two

Heat dry the spray stain and wipe the extra stain off the embossed pattern.  The clear embossing powder creates the resist allowing the white background to show through.  Layer the stencil again but offset it a bit and apply the lucky clover Ranger Distress Oxide Ink.

Step Three

Stamp the ink pad onto the craft sheet and spray with water and dip the ribbon to ink it, set aside to dry.  Cut the Christmas Bells with Creative Scrapbooker Super Stock, apply Ranger Emboss It and sprinkle metallic powders.

Step Four

To create a vintage look with embossing powder, rub off the edges of the die cuts prior to heating the powder.  This is a great opportunity to ink the edges and add to that vintage look.

Step Five

Layer all the pieces and add some dimension with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares for the Christmas Bells Yuletide Bows.  This would make a great gift tag attached to some holiday baking, a pretty wrapped gift or layered on a card.  Coordinate your background with your holiday colours with this easy background resist.
