How stinking cute are these gift bags, boxes and tags designed by Nicole Wright featuring products by Stampers Anonymous and Ranger! So simple, so adorable AND so customizable!!!! Is customizable a word?!?!?! Here are the simple steps that Nicole followed. 1. Fold the top of your paper bag back approximately 1″, using a bone folder. Punch a hole in the centre. 2. Use Ranger Archival jet-black ink to stamp your Stampers Anonymous holiday images randomly on the front and back of the bag. 3. Colour the stamped images using Dina Wakley Media Scribble Sticks. 4.  Use a waterbrush pen to blend the Scribble Stick colours. Have fun, and create coordinating tags, cards, and holiday boxes. The stamp set that Nicole used is the Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Yuletide Gatherings stamp set. To colour the stamped images Nicole used her Ranger Dina Wakley Media Scribble Sticks. So much fun and so super…

Summer is slowly slipping away but that doesn’t mean we can’t capture those moments and scrap them. Hello fellow creatives, Nicole here bringing you a scrappy layout!  I know… not my usual gig.  However, I have a new paper collection releasing with Wild Whisper called Tinbit Travels and I wanted to scrap with it.  I created these mixed media pages to mimic the outdoors with colours and texture.  Check out this easy layout for my Airstream, Tinbit. Tinbit Travels is about to release.  For this layout I cut every sheet.  Yes, that was surprisingly difficult.  I printed out a 5×7 Tinbit photo and gathered some supplies to get inspired. I cut each piece of the mixed media side of the Tinbit Travels pages 1 ¾”x 11”.  Because each mixed media page is designed with the textures of nature, I wanted to add all that pop of colour.  You can use…

Welcome to another exciting technique filled Tuesday with the Team.  Nicole Wright here sharing how to use a gel plate to enhance your pattern paper for a mixed media vibe.  Using pattern paper as a “base layer” to your next project you can create more depth with paint.  Thus, coordinating your paper and paints to anything you create.  Follow along and see how I created a Mixed Media Floral Wreath. 1 For this technique, I will be using Media Assemblage pattern paper (more info on that at the bottom of this post) and Dina Wakely Media Acrylic Paint by Ranger Ink. Apply paint to the Gel Plate as seen above.  You can brayer the paint to blend or use your finger.  Add texture to the paint with texture combs. 2 Once the paint is blended and textured, lay the paper right over top.  Rub your hand across the paper to…

It is great fun filling your art journal but what about the cover? Hey makers, Nicole Wright here and in this post, I will be showing you how to add bling to your Art Journal cover.  I have adorned my cover with Finnabair Mixed Media products from Prima Marketing Inc.  It’s all about the layers so take that creative leap and express yourself. I used my Iris Tapestry stencil as my base layer.  Here, you can add patterns randomly to your journal using Art Extravagance Golden Nugget and the Mixed Media Silicon Brush. A layer of dictionary paper is applied with Soft Gloss Gel.  Spray the page with a little water until damp, tear and apply the Soft Gloss Gel on the top and bottom of the paper. I created flowers using the Cherry Blossom Mould using hot glue in a pinch.  There are a lot of Moulds to check…

Mixed Media is all about trusting the process.  It’s always messy in the middle and we have to let the creativity take over.  Nicole here and I am sooooo excited to play with Prima.  For this tutorial, I am using Finnabair.  This is my first time exploring the textures, shimmer, and detail of these fabulous mediums and paints.  I started by applying some torn book pages with 3D Gloss Gel Transparent making sure to apply an even coat over the paper.  Add a layer with the Offset Dots Clear Stamp using permanent ink, Ranger ink Archival Jet Black. Add a layer of texture with Plaster Paste and mix in a little mint- green Patina Effect Paste to tint your Plaster Paste. Layer the 6×9 Passiflora Stencil and apply the Plaster Paste in an even layer. While the Plaster Paste was drying I cut “trust” with Sizzix XL Typo Lower die.  Adhere…

There’s a new baby joining my family!  Hey crafters, Nicole Wright here and no it’s not me!  My great nephew will be here in a couple months and I needed a card STAT for the baby shower.  Let me set the scene… I need a quick card because I have left it to the last minute.  My Brother Scan N’ Cut2 is perfect for making this quick card in just 15 minutes.  I whipped through the cuts and went straight for the animals.  I mean you can’t go wrong with a giraffe.  I select the cuts and adjust my size to fit my standard card.  Load my scrap paper onto the cut mat… in the middle because it’s sticky there. I cut the words in both patterned paper and black to create a shadow.  Why not… I’m already cutting right.  Then I do the same with the giraffe.  I cut the patterned…
