Hi there! Noreen here from OrganizedandCreativeMom.com, and today I’m hoping to put a spring in your step with a layout featuring the gorgeous new Full Bloom Collection from Creative Memories. The beautiful colors and patterns – watercolor washes, brushstrokes, speckles and spatters – in this collection have got me dreaming of Spring and all the seasonal celebrations that go with it!

There are TWO new punches as well – the Dewdrop Flower Punch and Embossed Trio Flower Punch – that you can purchase separately or as part of the Limited-Time Bouquet Punch Bundle that come with an exclusive leaf embellishment pack!  The combination of bright and pastel and exquisite hand painted details will make this collection perfect to document Easter, Mother’s Day, your blossoming garden and more! When this collection debuted at the beginning of February I knew I wanted to use it to document images of my Dad’s garden over the years. He grew up in row housing in Edinburgh, Scotland, and his family never had a garden or backyard. When he and mom bought their home in Calgary, he was able to exercise his green thumb and indulge in his love of all things green and growing. He would spend long winter evenings carefully planning his garden, and even with Calgary’s short summers he was able to cultivate lush flower beds with unique specimen plants. But his favorites were always the towering Hollyhocks and the delicate Sweet Peas that he planted without fail every year. I dug out a few photos of those Hollyhocks that grew right outside my bedroom window to use in this layout! To make this layout I started by spattering a bit of pinkish-mauve watercolor onto the light blue & white marbled paper. After letting it dry I cut it down to 11” x 11”, lightly distressed the edges with my scissors, then mounted it onto a 12” x 12” sheet of White Cardstock. I cut pieces of the textured teal paper and the mauve floral paper, distressed their edges, and adhered them onto the marbled paper to create a layered background. Then I used my Cricut and jpeg images from the Full Bloom Digital Art Kit to cut out some of the delicate leaf embellishments from white cardstock, and adhered them on top of the patterned paper pieces using the Precision Point Adhesive Pen to get into all the tiny little areas.
I matted the two photos on additional pieces of white cardstock and placed them on top of the leaves and patterned paper pieces. I also used my Cricut to cut the word “bloom” (in the Star Strella font) for my title. I snipped some small shapes from a variety of the patterned papers to back the open spaces behind the letters to add even more variety and color.
I added embellishment clusters of the gorgeous watercolor floral die-cuts, stickers, punched leaves, and the pearlescent gems, and finished the layout with journaling and faux stitching done with my Black Dual-Tip Pen.
I love how the colors, the flowers and the leaf shapes echo the colors and textures in the photos of the Hollyhocks!
