Hello! Noreen here from OrganizedandCreativeMom.com. Spring is right around the corner (although you’d never know it from the amount of snow still on the ground in Calgary!) and with it come so many wonderful events to celebrate – Easter, Spring Birthdays, Weddings, Bridal Showers, Baby Showers, Graduations, First Communions & Confirmations, and Mother’s Day…Blessed events for sure! I thought it would be great to have a bunch of cards made up ahead of time for some of these lovely celebrations using Creative Memories stunning Full Bloom and Timber Paper Packs, along with the coordinating Full Bloom Embellishments and Stickers. I love the juxtaposition of the pretty pastel florals and the rough-hewn wood patterns – it reminds me of a bouquet of freshly picked wildflowers set in a mason jar on a rough farmhouse table! And, I love the way these cards turned out.
For those of us who don’t have a huge collection of rubber stamps, it can sometimes be difficult to find a sticker or die cut with just the right sentiment. The Full Bloom Collection has a great sticker pack with lots of word art, but I really wanted sentiments that worked for all the Spring events I mentioned above…so I made some! And I’m happy to share this free printable of Spring Blessings Card Sentiments with you!
There are eight different sentiments – some of which are specific, whereas others are more generic and can be used for a variety of events. The 3” x .55” banner style sentiments are the perfect size to add to a standard card (4.25” x 5.5”, folded in half) and I’ve created them in two different fonts – a lovely script and a more playful sans serif font. I’ve also included a cross template that would work well on an Easter card or any other religious card. You can download a copy of the printable here, then simply print it onto white or pastel cardstock and cut out each banner sentiment to use on your cards. Cut out the cross and use it as a template to trace onto a piece of patterned paper.
Let’s take a closer look at each card. Each one starts with a standard 4.25” x 5.5” card base cut from White Cardstock then scored and folded in half.
To make this card I cut a piece of the multi-floral/chartreuse stripe paper to3.5” x 4.5”, then cut it into four equal rectangles measuring 1.75” x 2.25” each. I adhered them to the card base, alternating the colors and patterns on the opposite sides and leaving a slight space in between. I adhered a leaf and floral die-cut from the Full Bloom Embellishments pack with Foam Squares, and added the “Spring Blessings” sentiment across the middle of the flower. An adhesive pearl (also from the Full Bloom Embellishments pack) in the centre of the flower finished off this card.
For this Easter card I started by cutting a 4” x 5.25” rectangle from the blue vine paper and a 3.5” x 4.25” oval from the mauve floral paper (Tip: Use CM’s Custom Cutting System and cut around the outside of the smallest oval template with the blue blade). I layered the shapes with the cross I had traced and cut from the dark woodgrain pattern, then added a couple of die-cut flowers with another lovely adhesive pearl tucked in behind the “He is Risen” sentiment.
This is a great card for using up small scraps of pretty paper. The green vine rectangle is 1.75” x 4” and the green burlap textured rectangle is 2” x 3”. I thought they combined well to make a nice background for the flower vase sticker from the Full Bloom Sticker Pack. I used a 4” x 5.25” dark woodgrain rectangle as the background, and added the “Congratulations” sentiment with one side of the banner cut off to make a straight edge. A few little circular floral stickers repeat the yellow of the flowers and finish off this gender neutral card
I turned the last card base to a horizontal orientation and used a 5” x 3.75” piece of the medium toned wood plank pattern for the background. I layered some leaves and two large statement floral die-cuts with the “New Beginnings” sentiment, and added just one perfect adhesive pearl to complete the card.
I hope you head over to download a copy of the Spring Blessings Card Sentiments printable and create some cards for all the Blessed events coming up in your life!
