Whoa! Someone put the reigns on August! Somehow this summer has gotten away from us and September is right around the corner! That means kids are back to school and the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival is too! Seems like we just packed up from last year’s carnival!
So today I have a quick card share for you that looks a bit more time consuming than it is! Rule #1 as a card maker – make them think you sweat…think Rice Crispy commercial!
My card was inspired by our July Sketchy challenge and layered on top of some CSM superstock!
In an ideal world I would have more photos for you of the process, but I am using my “free pass” and will step them out in writing.
1] I used and older Heartfelt Creations background stamp, Large Elegant Word and Clearsnap inks to randomly stamp down the left side and bottom.
2] I cut one of the journal cards, from the embellishment page of Heartfelt Creations Camelia Carnation Collection, into quarters. I layered the quarters on top of two mats, cut from the same collection, creating a window frame effect.
3] I used the Heartfelt Creations Enchanted stamp and die to create the 3D flower. I love to stamp my image on a printed page of a collection as it adds the illusion of more texture and interest to the flower. I added a dollop of Stickles to the center!
4] From another patterned page from the Camelia Carnation collection, I cut out the leaves using the Simply Classic die. The pattern in the paper gives texture and pattern to the leaves and of course ALL colours co-ordinate!

5] I adhered all the layers using Tombow adhesives and then tucked a little hand cut tag at the top for the sentiment.
Thanks for visiting our blog today! We hope to see you at the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival in Edmonton or Calgary next month. Maybe you can search all the vendors and find some awesome Heartfelt Creations collections to inspire your next project!

I love how the card has dimension from the flower! Nice job!
