Hello everyone Noreen Smith here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog.
Although the summer is winding down, we are still enjoying the great weather and all the beautiful produce that is ripe and ready to eat! I’m not the best gardener but my strawberry plants have been so fruitful (pun intended!) this year, and we have been eating bowlful after delicious bowlful of them! The Creative Memories Locally Grown Collection that was released last month by Creative Memories is perfect for documenting this year’s bountiful harvest – just in case next year’s crop isn’t so great! The Creative Memories Locally Grown Paper Pack and Stickers are full of bright colors and patterns that will work beautifully with photos of backyard gardens, trips to the farmers market, BBQ’s and picnics and lots of other summer celebrations. I used several of the papers to create this single page layout showcasing a few photos of my abundant strawberries!
I used a piece of retired Pink Cardstock for my base, then layered on an 11” x 11” square, a 3” x 12” strip and topped it with a 9” x 9” square, all cut from the various papers featuring strawberries and other fruit. On top of that I added my three 4” x 4” photos and a journal box cut down to 2” x 4”. I punched a border strip from the green patterned paper with the Flower Child stand-alone border punch and adhered it along the bottom. I punched a couple more of the same border strips then snipped apart the flowers to use as accents behind my DIY strawberries – simply punch a heart from the pink patterned paper and add a slightly wonky star punched from the green patterned paper! A few dashes of the Black Dual-Tip Pen look like the strawberry seeds.
I used one of the stickers as a title and added few more of the fun word-art, butterfly and bumblebee stickers to create my embellishment clusters, popping some of them up off the surface of the layout with adhesive Foam Squares for added dimension. I finished off by journaling with my trusty Black Dual-Tip Pen.
I love the mix of pinks, grays, and greens in this layout and I love having proof that I actually CAN grow strawberries!

Love what you did with this collection! Quite often I don’t see past the obvious, so it’s helpful to see some beautiful inspiration.
LOVE the strawberry theme. I always love images of berries.
