I love a good collection and Simple Stories never disappoints. Their new “Merry & Bright” Collection has an abundance of yummy pieces: chipboard, stickers, frames, tags, wash tape and paper. Everything coordinates making layering and and creating embellishment clusters a dream. This layout is actually a large “Z”. If you squint you can see it. I was inspired by an advertisement I saw in a magazine. The page is comprised of three embellishment clusters built on three cardstock circles to create a colorful photo stack. I used an assortment of the “Bits & Pieces”, Chipboard Stickers, card-stock stickers and washi tape to create three photo-stacks. Along the bottom, I decorated a card-stock border sticker with little words. Then I mounted the vintage car on a couple of Pop-Up Dots™ by Glue Dots to give it some height. Layering these elements creates interest, depth and a bit of whimsy. It looks like my car is driving down a gingham road – don’t you think? My title was cut on my Cameo Silhouette. I used the free font called Fontbox Biscuit Base from whatfontis.com. It works really well for titles and I LOVE the bouncy letters. The title is sitting on a washi tape base. The entire layout was stuck together using Glue Dots Adhesives.
To finish it off I splattered watered-down white gesso (after I covered up my photos). I always think I can control the splatter but that is NEVER the case.
I hope you have time to tell some Simple Stories this month and I wish you all a Merry & Bright holiday season!
