Hey everyone, Kim here! I’m sharing a simple layout today celebrating some of the yummy foods we enjoyed during a recent trip to Kauai.
The layout itself is very basic, starting with a grid of four photos, offset to the right. I adhered my photo grid on top of two cardstock papers from some older Momenta stacks that I had from last year. The fun starts when I look for embellishments to add interest!
Momenta has some wonderful dies. I was lucky enough to have three sets that played really well together and YES, one was the Christmas wreath! I easily cut the words out of the center and it was the perfect size to layer with my pineapple and flower die cuts! The “KAUAI” title was cut using the alpha dies, I love the font and size!
All of the dies were cut from Brea Reese Mixed Media paper. I was a bit concerned that this paper was quite thin and worried it would not hold up to the glitter and water colour inks…I was wrong! Once everything was dry, the paper had maintained it’s nice, crisp feel and did not warble and curl! I look forward to using it some more!
I used a combination of Glue Dots products to stick everything down. The micro dots were perfect for the narrow parts of the wreath and letters. The larger dots were great for the larger elements and the tape runner was used for the papers and photo grid.
I completed my layout with some journaling that goes around my photo grid. I enjoy writing around photos, it adds an unexpected, fun element to the page. The nib on Brea Reese’s fine liner pens is perfect for journaling…they are a favourite in my day timer as well!
