Hello and happy May! Kim here with a colourful layout share today using products a from Simple Stories, Impression Obsession, Clearsnap and Glue Dots!
I have been emptying my craft room as we are doing some renovations once again on our home. During the tedious job of moving all my craft supplies I came across two photos from our Crop & Cruise vacation from over 10 years ago. This was actually the first time I met team Creative Scrapbooker and have grown some wonderful friendships from this holiday.
I wanted my layout to be happy and summery, but needed a simple background as the pictures themselves were “busy”!
I opted to build my layout on a piece of Creative Scrapbooker Superstock. I pulled out my Simple Stories’ Hello Summer collection. The colours worked perfectly and the embellishments fit the theme of my photos.
I first stamped the background with a few images from Impression Obsession’s Solar System set and some Color Box dye Ink by Clearsnap. The images add an extra layer and took away some of the starkness I felt existed.
After playing with the placement of my embellishments, I felt my layout needed something more. I chose to add narrow strips of the striped paper to either side. This made my layout POP! Sometimes it’s the easiest part of the layout that makes the biggest impact!
I have used a combination of adhesives from Glue Dots: permanent runner and 3/8” permanent dots! These adhesives are super, sticky so I am confident everything will stay together for years and years! There’s an adhesive for ALL of your projects!
When playing with your product, don’t forget to overlap and layer photos to paper & embellishments. This will subconsciously let your brain know that all parts connect to tell the story! Use the colours of your photos to help decide the colours of your layout. Playing with papers and products you love will result in completed layouts you love!
