If you don’t have ColorBox in your stash use some of your favorite inks to recreate your Thankful canvas. Apply ColorBox Dyestress Inchworm and Moss Inks to 10″ x 10″ canvas using ColorBox Stylus and Tips. Spritz with water; dry. Stamp background image using ColorBox Archival Mudslide Permanent ink to top of the prepared canvas. Lay ColorBox Swirldot Art Screen to top of prepared canvas; apply the paste to the top with a palette knife. Apply ColorBox Dyestress Salmon, Tomato, Inchworm and Moss Inks to top of 7 3/4″ x 7 3/4″ chipboard leaf using ColorBox Stylus and Tips. Stamp background image to prepared leaf using ColorBox Archival Fireberry Ink. Adhere prepared leaf to the top of prepared canvas. Spatter the prepared canvas with white paint. Temps in Virginia were at 100 degrees and I headed to the ocean with a couple of crafty friends. We loaded the truck up with enough supplies to last a year, even though we were only spending one night. Sound familiar? I had found a bag of shells in a dollar store and decided to create something with them. I have always been fascinated with how delicate they look and how strong they are! I used Clearsnap ColorBox Blends2 inks and Molten Dimensions embossing powders by Emerald Creek Craft Supplies to add color to the shells. They came out so pretty! Hello Creative Scrapbookers! Jayme Loge here with a little glance at what is on my scrap table this week! I’ve not spent a lot of creative time making cards or scrapbooking lately; I’ve been creating in other ways, exploring poured acrylic painting, working in different kinds of planners, creating messy art lessons for second graders and playing with the Impression Obsession Elegant Feathers stamp set. My oldest niece graduated in June, so I took that as an opportunity to get back to my first love and create a grad card for her. I love how it turned out- it is not at all traditional but I think it is encouraging for a lovely young woman about to head out into the adult world. I am sharing a step out tutorial on how to create your very own coffee mixed media canvas. Don’t worry…if you aren’t a coffee lover, do tea or change the idea up completely but more than anything enjoy the technique. Begin by adhering a few pieces of corrugated paper to the top of a 5″ x 7″ canvas. Dry brush White Titanium, Burnt Sienna and Yellow Oxide to top making sure that each layer dries. Stamp beans from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies Fireside Stamp Set to the prepared canvas using black ink and bean stamp. Repeat with coffee rings from the Blends Stamp Set.
