Good Morning friends and welcome to the Creative Scrapbooker Blog today.
Its Karan Gerber with Christmas around the corner, I know you might be looking for some crafty gift ideas for that special someone. I have a Christmas Box and Mini album to share with you.
This is a mini-album/Christmas box using the 6×6 paper collection called Cotton Winter from Scrapboys.
This is a brand new company just recently launched out of Poland and I am proud to be on their Design Team
So Scrapboys has a gorgeous winter collection that I thought would be perfect to use for this little box I found in my stash, I think its an older Melissa Frances design. The box is 6×6 with a 5×5 accordion album inside. There is a lot of fussy cutting on the cover of the box which was taken from some of the element sheets in the 12 x 12 collection; Let’s get started!
For my first step, I used Hero Arts White Pigment ink and went around the edges of the box and the mini-album. And I set aside to dry. While it was drying I cut out the elements I wanted to use on the cover and inside the album I used the photo frames.
I used the reindeer; some of the poinsettias from this sheet, but I also cut more from this paper. The large pink frame, I used all the square frames for photo mats on the inside of the mini-album.
I thought it would be great to blend in some flowers and chipboard from 49 and Market
I love dimension and used foam tape to add extra layers on the box cover after fussy cutting out the elements I wanted to use. I added some snow paste from Decor Art and Art Stones from Prima to add a little extra touch on the cover.
For the inside of the album, I used a 6×6 Cotton Winter Paper pad and cut out 8 papers.
This collection is double-sided which makes it perfect for projects like this. I used the rest of the chipboard and flowers form the packages throughout the album but mostly on the front of this little beauty. And I added more snow paste here on the flowers and leaves, it just tones them down a bit and adds a bit of texture.
Where I didn’t use a frame I just cut white cardstock to use as a photo mat. I then cut them to fit the album pages approximately 4.75 x 4.75. I used the photo mats that I cut from the frame paper and used those throughout the album.
I cut papers to cover the inside of the box. Have fun with the fussy cut elements you can certainly add much more to the album pages and make it all your own. it’s pretty easy to do and I had this done in a few hours.
That completes my project for you today. I hope I have inspired you to get some holiday projects completed.
Thank you for dropping by and hope to see you soon.
