Hello friends , Karan Gerber here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. Today I am sharing a beautiful card I created using 49 and Market Papers, Rub-ons, Washi Tape and Ephemera along with dies from Sizzix and Elizabeth Craft Designs. Here is how easy it is to put a card together. My base size is 5.5 x 7, making my first paper mat 5.5 x 7, and my second 5×6.5. On my top layer I added a few strips of Washi Tape. I inked the edges with Seedless Preserves Distress Ink. Popped this on my card base with foam adhesive to add a little dimension. Using the Stitched Rectangles from Elizabeth Crafts, and Sizzix Butterflies, I die cut these out. I added a bit of shaping to these by add a bit of water to the back and shaping the wings to give them some lift. The top layer…

Hello friends Karan Gerber here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. Here in Ontario, the colours have taken over the trees and bright oranges, yellows and reds are all over our island. It sure is a beautiful site to see. My card is inspired by these beautiful fall colours and I wanted to show you how I created these gorgeous little flowers. To begin with, we will need to cut out some florals and leaves from the Elizabeth Craft Designs Florals 5. (large, medium small, 2 small as well as some leaves) I cut these out on watercolor paper from Canson. I am using watercolours from Elizabeth Craft Designs as well to colour the flowers. I used the waterbrush that comes with the set to colour using permanent yellow. I also coloured the leaves the Yellow Green shaping them with the Golf tool from Dress My Crafts allows me to…

Good Morning friends and welcome to the Creative Scrapbooker Blog today. Its Karan Gerber with Christmas around the corner, I know you might be looking for some crafty gift ideas for that special someone.  I have a Christmas Box and Mini album to share with you. This is a mini-album/Christmas box using the 6×6 paper collection called Cotton Winter from Scrapboys. This is a brand new company just recently launched out of Poland and I am proud to be on their Design Team So Scrapboys has a gorgeous winter collection that I thought would be perfect to use for this little box I found in my stash, I think its an older Melissa Frances design. The box is 6×6 with a 5×5 accordion album inside.  There is a lot of fussy cutting on the cover of the box which was taken from some of the element sheets in the 12 x 12…

Hi Friends and welcome the Creative Scrapbooker Blog today. Its Karan Gerber here to share a Christmas Tag that I designed. I have been thinking of Christmas Projects and put together this Christmas Tag designed on the Time for Home Paper Collection   from Ciao Bella Paper I first of all need to apologize: I know when I often do a post for Creative Scrapbooker, I always have detail and process images for you to see how I created each step, i took images with my mobile and when I went to move them to my computer, I somehow lost them, I tried for hours to recover them but had no luck, so I apologize for that and hope that my description through the steps are ok. Here is my Tag that I put together for you today! I love how it turned out, perfect for a Gift Box I started with…

Hello friends! Welcome to the Creative Scrapbooker blog.  It’s Karan Gerber here today to share a rusty tag project with you featuring Prima Marketing Rust Paste. I hope you like what I have designed for you today. I have been feeling somewhat rusty lately, LOL and by saying that I mean, I have been using the Rust Paste from Prima Marketing on a lot of my projects lately.  This little jar of goodness is really easy to use, you just need to apply it in a dabbing motion, and heat set or let dry and this is what the end result looks like. It’s super easy to use and the effect is pretty incredible. Here is a sneak peek. The base of this tag is a Tim Holtz Etc tag measuring 4.5 x 8. I then covered it with gel medium and placed Rice Paper from Ciao Bella  ( Oxido…

Hi Friends and welcome to the   Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. It is Karan Gerber here on the blog today with a school layout featuring 49 and Market. When I was thinking about what I wanted to create for you, I thought of the days when my boys went to school. It seems like so long ago.  We are in the month of June and I am sure many of you will be looking for ideas for your school photos. so I have created a masculine school layout using the Mini Old School Collection from 49 and Market. To begin with, I am using a photo of my oldest son from 2013, this is his Grade 12 photo which measures 3.5 x 5, I cut 4 photo mats from other papers in this collection begins with a 3.75 x 5.75 and each photo mat was 1/4 inch larger than the last, I…

HI Friends and welcome to the Creative Scrapbooker Blog today featuring laser cut shapes. Its Karan Gerber here to host the blog and  I am here to share with you a masculine layout I designed based on the new Laser Cut Frame Sets from 49 and Market with papers from the Bold and Beautiful Collection. Here is a peek at what I will be creating for you today: To begin with, we will be using two sheets of the whispers paper; a set of the Laser Frame Set #3 insert whispers image here We will be using two of the above papers to create our background, one using the reverse image and the second we will be cutting a 5.25” x 10.5” making sure to incorporate the detailed brick in the pattern. When you cut the second sheet, ink the edges with Weathered Wood Distress ink from Ranger. Here is what the frame set looks…

HI Friends, welcome to the Creative Scrapbooker Blog today!  Its Karan Gerber here to host the blog for you today and I have a simple winter, scrapbook layout to share with you using papers from the Kaisercraft Wonderland Paper Collection.   I know sometimes we want to fit as many photos as we can on a layout, but often times we are able to capture a special moment and that photo deserves a full page.  This photo is of my friend’s grandson Boston, I am so grateful she let me scrapbook him. To start off, I used the Wonderland snowfall for my background, cutting out a one-inch frame all the way around and I matted an 11 .75 x 11.75 dark blue cardstock on top. Realizing this color would be too dark for my layout I decided to add another cardstock mat on top of that measuring 11×11. My cut out from the background…

Hello Friends, its Karan Gerber with you today to share a holiday layout using some products from a couple of my favorite manufactures.  I am sure many of you have taken a ton of photos over the holidays and perhaps are looking for some inspiration to get those photos into your albums, here is a layout designed using the fabulous Winters Edge Collection  from 49 and Market  I also combined some of their blooms and chipboard is from 2 Crafty Chipboard I started with a 12 x 12 sheet and cut down a second sheet to 11.5 x 11.5 and distressed the edges.  I actually distressed the edges on all my paper layers of this layout to add some texture. The photo mats measure as follows: dark mat measures -7.5 x 7.5; the grey gingham is 5.75 x 6.75; the red striped paper on the background is 2 strips 3×12 inches…

Hello Friends and welcome to the Creative Scrapbooker Blog. Its Karan Gerber here to inspire you today and I have a card I designed using the papers, archival board, flowers and stamps from 49 and MarketThe papers are from the new Island Paradise Collection and the flowers are the Cotton Blends. So to start with, I cut two papers from the collection.  One measuring 5.5 x 7.5 and the second, 5×7.  I wanted to make sure there was enough contrast between the two, so the top one is a bit darker than the bottom mat. The second step was I used some Stamps from 49 and Market, first set being Pascale’s Grammar Stamp and the second was Pascale’s Formula. For the second step: stamp the background very randomly using the Grammar set of stamps using Ranger Black Archival InkI then used weather wood distress ink from Ranger and used the Formula…
