Hello! Noreen from OrganizedandCreativeMom.com here today with my take on the June Sketchy Gallery sketch using two new tools from Creative Memories along with the brand new Vitamin Sea Collection. I love the tropical vibe of this collection and how it worked with my photos from a trip to Jamaica. I was excited to see that Kerry Engel’s June sketch called for four photos divided by three lines. Rotating a sketch is one of my tried and true methods of making a sketch work for me, and I thought that by rotating the sketch 90 degrees counterclockwise, I could use borders punched with Creative Memories new Seashells Border Punch and the Kissing Fish Chain Border Maker Cartridge to create the “lines” between, above and below my photos. To create the layout, I started with a base of Leaf Green Cardstock and added a layer of turquoise stylized wave patterned paper from the new Vitamin Sea Paper Pack. Then I cut two strips of tropical palm paper, offset them to the edges of the cardstock and mounted my photos on top. I only had three photos, so I used one of the smaller journaling cards from the Vitamin Sea Variety Mat Pack in place of the fourth photo.
I punched one Seashells border from blush geometric patterned paper and another from Beige Cardstock. I adhered the two together with Repositionable Adhesive to make the border a little stiffer and then mounted it in between my rows of photos with Foam Squares Adhesive. Then I punched two Kissing Fish Chain borders from deep teal patterned paper and adhered them along the outer edges of the tropical palm paper, trimming off the excess that hung over the edges of the cardstock with All-Purpose Scissors. For the title I cropped one of the decorative cards from the Vitamin Sea Variety Mat Pack, layered it with some of the luscious tropical leaves from the Vitamin Sea Embossed Embellishments and finished the cluster with shells & flowers from the Vitamin Sea Stickers and gorgeous pearlized gems (also from the embellishments pack). I built the other embellishment cluster in the opposite corner with the similar layers of leaves, stickers and gems and finished by journaling on the mat card with a Black Dual-Tip Pen. Many of us can’t wait until we get the opportunity to travel to an exotic destination again, but until we do, we can certainly relive past tropical travels in layouts featuring the Vitamin Sea Collection. I hope you have lots of have fun adding sweet seashells and adorable kissing fish to your layouts with the new tools!
Happy Scrapping!
