Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans! Katelyn Grosart here!
For today’s blog post, I’m sharing with you my Warmest Wishes Wall Hanging. To create my wall hanging, I’ve used the Simple Vintage North Pole Collection from Simple Stories Dies and Watercolor Palette from Elizabeth Craft Designs Stamps and Embossing Powder from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies, Ink from Ranger Ink Adhesive from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. You’ll want to grab a cup of your favourite beverage and learn how to recreate my wall hanging at home.
To start, you’ll need to choose two pieces of patterned paper out of the Simple Vintage North Pole Paper Pack from Simple Stories. From one of the patterned papers, die cut a 4” Stitched Rounded Rectangle from Elizabeth Craft Designs out. From the other patterned paper, die cut a 3 ¾” Fitted Rounded Rectangle from Elizabeth Craft Designs. Distress the edges of both rectangles. Ink the edges of the both rectangles using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam from Ranger Ink.
Choose another piece of patterned paper out of the Simple Vintage North Pole Paper Pack from Simple Stories. From the patterned paper, die cut a 3 1/2” Stitched Rounded Rectangle from Elizabeth Craft Designs out. Apply Emboss It Ink from Ranger Ink to the Snowy Skies Stamp set from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies. Stamp the stamp onto the patterned paper rectangle. Sprinkle Molten Dimensions – White Wonder Embossing Powder from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies over the stamped image. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Distress the edges of the rectangle. Ink the edges of the rectangle using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam from Ranger Ink. Choose another piece of patterned paper out of the Simple Vintage North Pole Paper Pack from Simple Stories. From the patterned paper, die cut a 1 1/8” Diagonal Stitched Fishtail from Elizabeth Craft Designs out. Trim the fishtail down to 4 ¾”. Next, you’ll need the Color Vibe – Textured Cardstock in Red from Simple Stories. Die cut a 1 ½” Diagonal Stitched Fishtail from Elizabeth Craft Designs out. Distress the edges of both fishtails. Ink the edges of the rectangle using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam from Ranger Ink.
Next, you’ll need a doily that measures 4”.
Now you’ll need the Poinsettia Christmas Ornament and Snowman Christmas Ornament from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink from Ranger Ink to the Poinsettia Christmas Ornament and stamp onto a piece of watercolour cardstock. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink from Ranger Ink to the Snowman Christmas Ornament and stamp onto the same piece of watercolour cardstock. Colour the ornaments in using a waterbrush and the Watercolour Palette from Elizabeth Craft Designs. To add some glimmer to the snowman and snow on the snowman ornament, use a watercolour brush and Glace Paint – Moonstone from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies to colour in those areas. Dry the ornaments. Fussy cut the ornaments out. Ink the edges of both ornaments using Black Soot Distress Ink and a Blending Tool with Foam from Ranger Ink.
Apply Emboss It Ink from Ranger Ink to the Warmest Wishes sentiment from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies and stamp onto a piece of white cardstock. Sprinkle Kells Gold Modern Gilding Powder from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies on the stamped sentiment. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Once the sentiment has cooled, fussy cut it out. Ink the edges of the sentiment using Black Soot Distress Ink and a Blending Tool with Foam from Ranger Ink.
Using the E-Z Runner from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, adhere the 3 ¾” Fitted Rounded Rectangle to the 4” Stitched Rounded Rectangle. Use 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere the 3 ½” Stitched Rounded Rectangle to the 3 ¾” Fitted Rounded Rectangle. Use E-Z Runner from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere the doily to the middle of the 3 ½” Stitched Rounded Rectangle. Using E-Z Runner from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, adhere the 1 ½” fishtail 5/8” from the right of the 3 ½” rectangle and to the top of the 3 ¾” rectangle. Adhere the 1 1/8” fishtail 1 ½” from the right of the 3 ½” rectangle and to the top of the 3 ¾” rectangle. Using 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere the two ornaments as desired on the left-hand side of the 3 ½” rectangle. The ornaments will sit on top of the fishtail. Use E-Z Runner and 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere the Warmest Wishes sentiment to the bottom right-hand side of the wall hanging as desired. Punch two holes at the top of the wall hanging. Tie a piece of twine through each hole to create the hanging part of the wall hanging. Here are a few closeup photos of my wall hanging.
