Hi friends! Noreen from OrganizedandCreativeMom.com here to share a single-page scrapbook layout featuring a brand-new collection by Creative Memories – Emerald Gemstone! This stunning collection is inspired by the wonders of nature and features patterns such as starry night skies, aurora borealis, bold leaves, peacock “eyespots,” mineral deposits, water droplets, crystals, and watercolour washes in a radiant palette of navy and royal blue, teal, white, emerald green and touches of yellow-green. There is a Patterned Paper Pack, a Tone-on-Tone Paper Pack, Stickers, Variety Mat Cards, and Laser-Cut Borders in the collection, as well as a gorgeous Album and Fast2Fab Pages, and I knew it would be perfect to use with some photos of a beautiful river valley and waterfalls from Kananaskis Provincial Park here in Alberta. I also wanted to use the new Gemstone Border Maker Cartridge as its unique shape works well to highlight and repeat the jagged shapes of the rock formations in my photos. The idea for my layout was to add various punched border strips, narrow pieces of paper, and some of the laser-cut borders to create rich layers of colors and textures – just as you’d see in a rock formation! I punched a few Gemstone strips from the Emerald Gemstone Tone-on-Tone Paper Pack and made sure to save the teeny strip that was leftover. TIP: Repositionable Adhesive is awesome for adhering those teeny strips and the more intricate gemstone border strips to the layout!  I arranged the various strips across the lower part of the layout, adhering some directly to my base page of Light Gray Cardstock and popping some up with Foam Squares Adhesive to create shadows and give more dimension. I placed my photos above the row of borders and added a half-size journaling card cut from one of the larger Variety Mat Cards. More border strips were placed above the photos but only going partially across the page. It was easy to trim off the overhanging border strips with my All-Purpose Scissors. I punched a few leaves from the same tone-on-tone papers with the Gum Leaf Punch and layered them behind title/word art stickers from the sticker pack and wrote my journaling on the journal cards with a Black Dual-Tip Pen to complete the layout.
